Wrestling / Re: Paul Heyman & ECW Stable to Invade TNA?

while Hogan will become an ambassador for the company to represent them in media appearances.

This is what TNA should of had Hogan doing from the start. Very good news if true.

So bad!

What was he on about dont drink and drive this week? He made no sense other than to mistakenly imply he was drunk.

As far as i was aware Dreamer was brought to TNA in a backstage capacity. He's got years of experience in major companies and he helped with the running of ECW, so its not too bad of a signing. As he's there anyways it makes sense and costs nothing to get him in on this ECW storyline.

As for the rest of TNA, D you were asking how they can bring in these stars and the ratings still fall. Booking aside, and theres plenty of problems with the booking, TNA as a business needs to change. It is run in a **** poor fashion. They are so far behind the WWE on marketing, promotion, brand awareness its unreal. They kick the most profitable parts of the company, merch and house shows, into the dust and dont give a ****. Some of the places they go and do house shows in are laughable. Someone explain to me the business stratergy of avoiding big cities at all costs?! They just dont have a clue. Hogan is the most well known man in wrestling and he does interviews where he doesnt even mention TNA! His whole job there should be getting TNA's name in as many TV interviews, magazines, newspapers etc. that is humanly possible. This is Hogans true value, not seeing him try and wrestle when hes nearly 60 and can hardly walk! Its not just one area either, they really need to completely change the way the business operates before it can start to grow. Doing 4 major PPV's a year and 8 monthly free specials seems to me to be a good move. They could probably get away with charging abit more for the ones that are shown on PPV and it would definatly make those events much more anticipated.

I thought it was funny that it was car themed and still called "Over the Limit"  :stonecold: Should have been sponsered by Budweiser!

Wrestling / Drew McIntyre - problems backstage?
« on: May 25, 2010, 01:59:54 pm »
PWTorch.com is reporting that several WWE stars are refusing to work with Drew McIntyre as they proclaim him to be somewhat of a "head case." The feeling is that some of the veteran talent will not work with McIntyre until he improves and stabilizes his in-ring game.

- Drew McIntyre has fallen out of favor with WWE management. He has developed a reputation of being high maintenance.

I was wondering why he was missing on NXT -

- WWE.com has announced that Carlos Colon (Carlito) has been released from his WWE contract as of today May 21, 2010.

According to WWE, "Carlito’s termination was due to his first violation of the WWE Wellness Program and his subsequent refusal to attend a rehabilitation facility."

Well to be fair to him - he has spent most of his time putting over the Hart Dynasty, they've gone from not really mattering to being a big focus of the product. Plus he's a WWE legend who hadnt been seen for 13 years, with all of his history it makes sense to bring him back.  I cant see Scott Hall's big reason for going to TNA being to put over young guys, nor is he a TNA legend whos return had been one of the most talked about things in wrestling for the past 10 years. Flair is more in the line of Bret Hart, a legendary figurehead who's there to appeal to older fans and to put over the younger guys, with the occasion match - even if it is abit embarassing at times. But yeh - im not convinced putting a title on him is a good move. The reason i hold out hope is that i cant see Bret Hart accepting a title without somehow it tying in too putting over younger guys, but time will have to tell.

Im a huge Bret Hart fan but even im sceptical about him winning a title, the guy cant wrestle! And considering Bret Harts whole deal was his wrestling skill it kinda doesnt work. But still - i do love seeing him and im willing to hold out untill we see where it goes. And comparing Bret Harts situation to Scott Halls is stupid - completely differant. This run from Bret is more of a nostalgia trip for the fans and him to enjoy due to the dubious exits he had from WWE and WCW. Scott Hall is just your standard old wrestler - fat, slow and unwilling to give up the paycheck or the fame. In terms of Bret,  hopefully they just reign back on the in ring action and thats his last match. My prediction is he takes the GM job at RAW and vacates the belt due to conflict of intrest.

Anyone had any experience with this? Ive just noticed it - $3.95 a month, which is about £2.75, and it seems to be full of classic matches, shows and PPV's, so much so i might actually give it ago. Does anyone know what the quality is like and how often they add new matches?

I hope they keep having the Big Show just dominating with the big right hand. Having him just knock people out all over the place is great booking and great viewing - after all why would he bother with proper moves when hes that big? Hopefully they will build him like this for a few weeks/months until Kofi or Christian comes in and ends his rampage, although it seems hes now a face so i dont know if thats where there going.

I've missed the past 2 episodes, what's happened to Magnus, whenever I read reports he never gets mentioned, are they still associated or just down 2 totally different paths, I know Williams is all X-Division but last I heard of Magnus was a few weeks ago I think Terry squashed him.

Back to Gladiators for him i think!

I agree Izzy if you have the band come down, make the pin, Morgan kicks out starts a fightback then is mauled by the numbers advantage and is only pinned after taking a Razors Edge/Piledriver/Chokeslam would have put him over big time. Say he takes the muscle buster - kicks out, takes the big boot - kicks out only to be finished with a chokeslam would make him look super strong - presumably what a 7ft monster is suposed to look like.

For me hes one of the most geniune characters in TNA. Perfect person to be the whole, im a technical wrestler and better than these circus monkeys, type gimmick.
