If you ask me, Matt was always the better Hardy than Jeff and I know I am going to get called all kind of names for what I just said with this comment. I think the only reason why Matt never got his push is because he has a boring personality plain and simple, and I know I am going to get yelled over this one too but the truth is the truth plain and simple!
He was the more talented one, technically a much better wrestler, but his brothers daredevil ways and you could say "It" factor got Jeff more over, but both guys were way over, he was over enough for a big run, but I guess management didn't have faith in him pulling it off. You can be way over as midcarder but it doesn't mean that support will remain if you become World Champ, if people struggle to take you seriously in that role. Remember how much Rey Mysterio got booed? (Although he was booked like crap...) As for his personality, he was good as "V1".
Arda Ocal and Jimmy Korderas on Right After Wrestling recently asked former WWE star Shane ?Hurricane? Helms to comment on Matt Hardy?s release.
?Me and Matt (Hardy) talk on a daily basis,? Helms said. ?He?s doing really good and he?s in a good spot in his life.
?He was just ready to go, like myself when I left (WWE), I was just ready to go. I didn?t realize how ready I was to leave until about a month after my release. Back to Matt, he?s in a happier place, he?s got a ton of projects on the shelf, me and him will be doing a ton of stuff together as well.?
