- As most everyone knows, The Undertaker defeated Triple H ten years ago at WrestleMania 17 back in 2001.
For their current WrestleMania 27 feud, officials have ordered that the WrestleMania 17 match not be brought up and acknowledged because there?s a feeling it will take away from the fans believing that Triple H can end the streak.
I was wondering why it hadn't been mentioned. That's kinda stupid isn't it? I mean, I would've thought the fact that Taker beat HHH nearly ten years to the day of Wrestlemania 27 would add to the feud. HHH could say that he's a better competitor now or something and that he will prove he can beat Taker at WM. I mean, last year, the fact that Shawn Michaels had lost to Taker at WM25 was the main reason their match was happening. Just seems strange...
As for MITB, I think it's more of a Wrestlemania kind of match. The MITB PPV was good, but I think having that sort of match at WM just adds to the overall feel of the event. Having just one also added to the special feel of the match, whereas now at the MITB PPV we get two in one night. It's like, you wait all year for one, and then two come along at once....
I agree on both counts. The HHH vs Taker thing is strange... Personally i wasnt a fan of their first Mania match although i know that some people really enjoyed it. HHH should want revenge for that loss and it should hurt HHH that he is just a statistic in this legacy. And on top of that he beat his buddy HBK and ended his career! Great Build up stuff there.
As with the MITB i think it offers the period after WM til Christmas with potential for a new star and new storylines. Just a match that everyone looks forward to and has potential to steal a show
