With Wrestlemania the foundations were layed well, it's just the execution was...way off.

I think it is really poor that they couldn't figure out, in advance, that time would be an issue.  The 6 and 8 Men matches were slashed time wise, and the US Title dropped and it still ran the full 4 hours, which moron couldn't figure that out weeks ago and re-think it?

Firstly.  National Anthem.  Fair enough, we get it every year, but then after that I expect the epic video package, not 15 minutes of a really uninspired Rock promo.  I mean the guy is great, but all it seemed to consist of was, I say Yabba...you say Dabba?  Join in with my catchphrases etc. and so on.  That extra time could have made the 6 and 8 person tags worthwhile.  But in its defence it did get the crowd going.

Alberto Del Rio and Edge as curtain jerkers?  Now I know this has been given a lot of hate, but I don't mind it.  What I do mind is it was a medicore match, it felt rushed to me, and that annoyed me even more when they once again wasted time after the match with Del Rio's car getting trashed.  Not only was it a waste of time, but kayfabe he has a new car every week its not even a big deal.

Really liked Cody Rhodes and Rey Mysterio.  Nicely paced match and as mentioned in the other thread, it did a lot for Cody, I'd say it was the match that made his character and solidified him as a somebody and relevant.

The 8 Person Tag made The Corre look like a joke, I know they feel the need to keep as many on the card as possible but come on?  And after the beatdown they received on RAW last night I do worry about their status, it seems WWE has taken to giving stables the same respect it gives tag teams.

Randy Orton vs CM Punk was another decent match for me, although I wanted it to go longer.  Even in defeat Punk looked great and he is one of the greatest heels going at the moment, is character is so good, he deserves another world title reign, people like Punk are in a different league to Orton.

Michael Cole was meant to get his comeuppance, and in a much quicker match.  Edit this match like crazy and it could have been fun.  Cole's face when tapping when Austin wouldn't ring the bell was good but most of it just dragged and even with Swaggers help people couldn't buy into Cole dominating Lawler for so long.  It was nearly as bad as Bret vs Vince.

Triple H vs Undertaker was a classic.  It was all about a great story, the looks in their faces.  I know BlowUp mentioned Undertaker not giving up reminded him of Flair, I took it as a direct reference to Taker vs HBK last year.  Where Taker was saying give up Shawn and Shawn was just like **** you, you've got to kill me, even the way he was holding on to Trips was the same, and in identical fashion Trips just said no chance and tombstoned him.  And many then thought 'Taker had lost, I mean did anyone think you could get a pop off a crowd at 'Mania thinking that 'Taker was going to lose, a collective gasp, kudos for pulling that off.  That finish was a little bit strange though.  When Trips dropped the sledgehammer I assumed it was because he'd passed out....then 20 seconds later he taps.  But yeah great stuff.

6 person tag....another blink and you miss it.  Stratus and McCool who worked 90% of it actually had great exchanges, I'd like to see a match between them.  This was an insult to Dolph and Morrison though.  The one spot they got was nailed perfectly by JoMo but they deserved so much more...

Before I took about the Main Event, the backstage segments with The Rock were lousy.  What was great was the stage, titantron, music.  Clearly a lot of money and effort went into this.  When you watch the show you look and think, WOW, this is THE company, presentation says a lot, shame a lot of the action didn't back it up.

The Main Event video packages as Atari said were done very well, especially The Miz's I thought it was very fitting, stuff like that is what seperates WWE from the competition, watching that really gets you pumped, great build.  The match though.  Well it didn't get going until the last few minutes, and it was doing well for me...then it ended.  To make matters worse, The Rock coming out and doing his schtick with the RAW GM may have been amusing but its something for...RAW, not with 5 minutes left of the Main Event.  And then Rock crushes 2 active stars and things finish flat.  Miz should have got the rub from this win, thanks to Rock crushing him he got virtually nothing.

All in all a so-so show.
