After more than ten years and 50+ fights, MMAmania.com can confirm that mixed martial arts veteran Dennis Hallman has agreed to make his UFC return against up-and-coming welterweight John Howard at UFC 106 from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Nov. 21.

Both “Superman” and “Doomsday” have verbally agreed to clash however, bout agreements have not yet been signed.

Hallman (41-12-2) is perhaps best known for quickly disposing of former UFC welterweight champion Matt Hughes — twice — when Hughes was considered to be in his prime.

After cutting off the oxygen at Extreme Challenge 21 back in 1998, the two met again at UFC 29 a little over two years later. As history has a way of repeating itself, Supes gave Mr. Country Breakfast another fight-ending submission to go up 2-0 on the farmboy.

Combined total in both fights: a brisk 0:37 seconds.

Unfortunately that success didn’t translate well to the rest of the UFC’s roster, as Hallman put up goose eggs in his next three Octagon appearances, finishing 1-3 during a span that ended courtesy of Jorge Rivera at UFC 55 back in 2005.

No question he’ll try to reverse course when he battles 170-pound prospect John Howard (12-4).
