So, how long does it take from debuting to title?
WWE says months, if not years, of hard graft, bad gimmicks and jobbing is required
...but is it?
Wrestling titles don't rely on 'winning' but creative pushing u. I understand the logic that u have to 'win' the crowd and seem credible - but the fans will largely do whatever Vince wants them to, Dibiase went heel to face in one promo...
So why don't we see debutants taking the title? Why do guys like Morrison need IC title wins first?
How long do u reckon it needs? Sure it varies with the person, but does it need the IC phase first?
Well certain people don't.
But in the main young guys need to pay their dues and giving them IC title can show how they carry a title and therefore bigger matches.
Titles usually get you TV time and more intense feuds.... some can handle it some can't.
If you are a young guy, who applies yourself, trys to learn, have respect for the business, Accepts critisim and the fans take to you.... you will be big. However you really don't need all of them to be a champion.... but those things seem to go along way with WWE.
you start turning up late, moaning about lack of push and seem self involved you could be a brilliant wrestler and be destined for greatness and nothing ever happens.... See Carlito as an example.
I think its very rare these days that anyone goes straight to WWE title.
