Could have easily been a bigger star if used properly. Guy literally carried the UWF during its short existence. When NWA/WCW bought out UWF, they purged most of the roster and kept a few(including Williams). Had a pointless match with Barry Windham at Starrcade 87, and after that was a member of the Varsity Club(who I hated) and had a decent run with the NWA belts.

After that it was pretty much over, although I assume he dabbled in wrestling afterwards.

RIP

At the rate all these 80s legends are dying, there wont be any left within 10 years even though they aren't really that old.

That couldn't be further from the truth. Some of Williams' most known matches took place after that in Japan where he and Terry Bam Bam Gordy (RIP, of The Fabulous Freebirds) formed one of the most well-known and respected tag teams of all time.See below for a partial list of the amazing Five-Star matches he had in Japan.

Unbeaten for a decade (1987-1997)

It was during the 1990s that Williams arguably had his most success. He continued to work for All Japan Pro Wrestling and became a main eventer for the company, making him one of the most successful foreign athletes in Japanese wrestling history. He also sporadically wrestled in the U.S. on the independent circuit. Incredibly through his tag team appearances in WCW and success on the independent circuit in the 1990s, Williams went unpinned on U.S. soil for over a decade.[citation needed] That run was brought to an end during on of his appearances in Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW). After defeating Axl Rotten in approximately 2 minutes, Williams had an impromptu ECW World Title match, but lost to the then champion Raven. The loss happened in February 1997 at ECW Crossing the Line Again.
