TNA's Dixie Carter and Hulk Hogan will today announce the company's flagship show Impact is going head-to-head with WWE Raw in the United States.
According to film and TV trade magazine Variety, the two shows will be up against each other for two hours, from 9pm to 11pm Stateside, every Monday night.
The move has been expected ever since Carter brought Hogan and Eric Bischoff into the company and enjoyed a ratings and critical success with Hulk's Impact debut — which went live against Raw on Monday January 4.
TNA are hoping to both challenge the WWE and also create a renewed interest in wrestling as a whole.
Viewing figures peaked during the original WCW v WWE Monday Night Wars of the late 1990s and never recovered after WCW folded.
The full details of Impact's move to Mondays will be announced by Carter and Hogan at a press conference later today.
TNA presdient Carter said: "We've always wanted to go on Monday nights, that's where the wrestling viewing audience is accustomed to being.
"Having two Monday night wrestling shows with healthy competition between them can make for great TV.
"Our goal is not to beat Raw immediately, but we feel confident this will accelerate our growth and make it fun for wrestling fans".
Bischoff, who ran WCW for most of the original Monday Night Wars, described the move as "a little bit of history repeating itself".
He added: "This is a great opportunity for TNA to step up, get noticed and showcase their product.
"I've said since the moment I started talking to Dixie, in my opinion we should go head-to-head with Monday Night Raw.
"To me, it's a battlefield and to win the battle, you have to be on the battlefield."
In response, WWE spokesman Robert Zimmerman said Vince McMahon's group aren't worried.
He told Variety: "It's somewhat of a different audience. On Monday nights we're one of the top cable shows.
"We're focusing on our new show for Syfy, NXT and Wrestlemania XXIV. We're not too concerned as we're in good shape."
TNA Impact is shown every Saturday night on Bravo in the UK.
