Yeah, he is a great addition.  For guest stars for seasons, few shows (The Shield being one) do better.

His acting seems to have improved since the Robocop days, he plays the bad guy well.  With Dexter I think one of the biggest questions each season is who or how many are going to end up in body bags.  I think Weller is a dead cert (pardon the pun), but Quinn is getting into Doakes territory if he's not careful.

All day long. Namely, off the top of my head, Anthony Anderson (Antwon Mitchell... Yes, I had to Google his real name!), Glen Close, Forest Whitaker and, most importantly of all...

... Carl Weathers! (Watch Arrested Development for another classic slice of Carl Weathers!)

^ I hope you forgot Ray Ve... David Marciano because he was in for a few seasons and therefore counted more as a regular cast member than season long guest star  :P

And while we are on this subject, Lie to Me did an episode with loads of The Shield cast members, pretty cool stuff.

Oh and on topic, am I the only one hoping the Nanny gets knocked off?

This week, next week.... downloading stuff half the time I'm not sure whether I'm up to date.  The last one was the one where Robocop killed Deb right?

Tell me about it. The worst is when you're ploughing along diligently to a show that you're a late comer to, avoiding absolutely anything that's been written online lest you should get a season ahead of yourself, only to smash into US pace out of the clear blue sky!
(Which happened to me with Fringe last week. :()

(No, that was last week. The most recent one featured the return of Doakes.)

Apollo Creed should cameo as his long lost bro.

The incest is over...

The stars of Dexter have announced that they are filing for divorce.

Michael C. Hall, who plays the eponymous serial killer in the Showtime series, is to split from his wife and co-star Jennifer Carpenter, who portrays Dexter's sister Deborah on the show.

The couple have been married for two years, although they now reveal that they have been separated for a while, reports Entertainment Weekly.

"Having been separated for some time, Jennifer Carpenter and Michael C. Hall have filed for divorce," a statement from the stars' representatives read.

The reps also revealed that the split was friendly.

The couple met on the set of Dexter back in 2006 and married on December 31, 2008.

I've got the finale downloaded ready to watch when I get home from work, looking at the preview at the end of episode 11 it looked like Deb found out about Dexter being the killer...

Ok I've finally watched the entire season over the last week or so.  There are SPOILERS here, so if you don't want to read them skip this post.

I think this season was probably better than I anticipated.  I had low expectations after watching the first two episodes. I liked how they dealt with the Dexter/Lumen relationship as it was nice to see Dexter in a relationship where the other person accepted him for what and who he was.   What's weird is that I liked the Lumen character in spite of Julia Stiles somewhat wooden acting style.

I've always felt that the show's backbone was the Debra/Dexter relationship and this season was no difference.  There was some very good scenes between the two actors throughout the year.   The Jordan Chase character was a great villan this year.  He had a really interesting character breakdown of Lumen/Dexter just before he got killed.  I kinda liked Peter Weller's character I just wished they gave him a little more time to develop his arc a little more.

Now for some negatives:  they should have written the Lumen departure a bit better.  The way it was written in the episode finale was not really believable.  I understand why they probably wrote her out (her contract probably only stipulated that she would be around for this year) but they should have done a better job of writing a more believable resolution.  Well at least she still is alive unlike other guest stars.

Batista/LaGuerta pairing--I hated these two when they were together.  I liked them as separate characters but when they are as a couple it seems like the writers just have to create tension/problems just to make the pairing interesting.  Just have them split up already.

Quinn--how does this guy go from really zooming in on Dexter's activities to just dropping the entire thing when Liddy provided him with evidence.  I don't like the way they softened his character throughout the year.  Now they're setting up for Quinn/Dexter in S6 which is essentially a weaker version of Dexter/Doakes that was explored in S2.

Harry--these chats/hallucinations have lost all their interest because Harry never says anything interest or thought provoking anymore.  He just parrots out obvious points and conclusions.  The writers need to write better dialogue for him either that or just can the character because they are wasting the actor playing him.

Fuentes brothers arc--just seemed to disappear halfway through the year.  There is still one brother alive, correct?  They should have resolved this one way or another.

Astor--the actress playing her is pretty crappy.  The less she is on the better.

I thought this season was fantastic, only cause tryin to follow up last season i knew would be a chore.

I still think Deb knows. I think she put two and two together, being a detective and all. 13th disc didn't work... Lumen clearly fit profile, dexter didn't mention her or how they met ever....

Deb dropped some potential hints after that.

So i still think next season, which is being rumored as the last season, something BIG will happen.

I disagree with you on the part about Deb knowing.  Does she suspect that Quinn thinks that Dexter had something to do with Rita's death?  Sure I can buy that one.

Now, I don't think that she suspects Dexter or Lumen as the vigilantes.  I don't think she met Lumen for more than five minutes and I think it's a bit of a stretch to think that she could have put that all together.  Dexter himself said that Dexter was Deb's "blind spot."  She still thinks of him as that harmless guy.

I do think that they'll probably make her find out next year.  I just wish they didn't dick around with that informant angle in S3 and S4.  Regardless, I'll give them credit for developing the Debra character the past few years where she is now seen as a credible advasary for Dexter.

Maybe I had my expectations too high, but after an awesome season, I thought the finale was a bit lackluster.

I agree though Robocop should have developed and gone on longer, great character, he seemed to die too easily, first physical confrontation with Dexter he kidnaps him, 10 minutes later he's dead...

But the finale, killing Jordan didn't have the drama I'd hoped for, and the turnabout for Lumen, was bollocks, clearly they didn't just want another person close to Dexter to predictably die, but it just didn't ring true.  Still finale aside, very good season.

Yeah, gotta agree on Lumen angle

it reeked of "Julia Styles" is too expensive but we dont wanna kill her off so lets just write her off bullshit.

I think it could lead to a resolution for Dexter though, realizing the Dark Passenger can be rid of in time.
