Summerslam: DX vs Legacy
« on: July 28, 2009, 07:00:25 pm »
The same sources that tip me off to who to pick in the Predictions thread (and who i mistakenly ignored for Night of Champions) tell me its DX vs Legacy at Summerslam

Its an obvious pick - Michaels is ready to be back any time and they've been building a Triple H v Legacy thing for a while. With Cena in main event duties and Triple H 'free' i think this is on the cards

Thoughts?

Seems like a easy cash in to me - but i'll take it, means one less slot for a Diva match....

Could work, we could even have a tag vibe on the card....how about to compliment it

Brothers of Destruction vs. Chris Jericho and Big Show

Kane's only chance is a stint with 'Taker and it would keep Taker away from the title - after all they need that for endless Punk vs Hardy matches, first to 10 titles wins!

If this is the route they intend to go with HBK when he returns be prepared for childish pranks and every gimmick match conceivable taking place until Christimas at least or to such times when either HHH or HBK need time off.

I can see the the gags now: Body lotion, fake tan, homosexual references, thus crossing the line, where Shawn has to exit the scene in some comical fashion because of his faith.

Indeed.

DX - those young punks....with about a half dozen kids between them....and with a combined age of 84....

Something absurd about Michaels being a Christain fundamentalist.....rebel

Anyway, this will last till Triple H gets injured...and then bizarrely it will just be forgotten about for 2 years....

I think DX could work without the daft gags. A different sort of direction, just general sarcasm and ****-taking.

Something along these lines perhaps ;D:

Edit: Minus the OTT Jim Cornette reaction of course. :P

A waste of time if they go that route, unless they're having an Iron Man Match at that show, why would they put two of their biggest stars in a ten minute squash match?

Biggest flaw is coming in Legacy have been made to look weak, and they always get beaten up by Triple H so when there is two of them what chance do they have?

Maybe D-X will get the match against Big Show and Chris Jericho?

I'd Love to see it if Legacy can get the win.

DX is a massive force in wrestling and i agree that it will be fun if they go back to old DX stuff. But its no good them just destroying them. I wouldn't mind throwing Orton into the Mix and making it a 3 on 3 match with DX getting a younger member (although that will never happen).

They are planning on making SS massive so i think big matches are required almost a mid year WM Card:

Cena vs Orton
Jeff Hardy vs CM Punk vs Rey Mysterio (has to be some varity there and they are all good workers)
DX vs Legacy
Big Show / Jericho vs Brothers of Destruction

Its a start of a promising card to me. I think you'll find SS will actually be a stronger card than Mania this year in an attempt to boost its prestige.

This is how it works, You're young until you're not
You love until you don't, You try until you can't
You laugh until you cry, You cry until you laugh
And everyone must breathe, Until their dying breath

I notice the WWE talk about DX being a legendary tag team, but HHH and Michaels didn't team up much/at all during the original DX days, did they??

No its classic re-writing history.

When they formed all the matches on PPV they had were seperate....

....heck I think most of the ones of television were to.

Saying that their stint together was short, especially from a wrestling perspective since Michaels only had one match after his Rumble '98 bout.
