Why are people cruel ****?

on the internet, u meet the cruelest and just the most classless people. I am not talking exclusively about Michael Jackson, cause even though I don't agree, I can see where people could have negativity due to past allegations.

However

I am talking about just things in general. I've seen stories where people died and just the meanest,cruelest comments are lashed out or people wishing death on Miley Cyrus or countless other things.

Back when Tapout founder Charles Mask Lewis died, if u went to MMA forums, u had idiots posting jokes and talking **** about him etc and I don't get it.

Why are people on the net so negative?

Same reason some people enjoy infecting computers with viruses some are just cruel.

But its a fine line, some are just blunt, honest and to the point.

Many people have no empathy, they can't understand why people actually care and don't really mean much harm when they poke fun.

The Michael Jackson thing is a perfect example, many people are convinced he was guilty and simply paid people off/got lucky so they slag him off in many respects because they can't understand/they think its stupid that people are so cut up about it.

I mean for me, I didn't know him I wasn't a fan personally and I don't really care, simply because when so many people are dying every day, why should I get upset over someone I didn't care about?  If you get emotionally invested in too many deaths you will always be depressed.  I care about close friends and family, wrestling deaths can affect me but I move on quite quickly.

In Michael Jackson's case I'll remember his music, he was no doubt talented and the music I did enjoy, but for me, from that perspective, its still there.

I think the amount of press and praise Jade Goody got was pathetic. There are millions of people around the world that die of cancer everyday and of course it's a terrible thing that she died so young but what makes her so special and above everyone else? All she did was appear on a stupid reality show and get called a pig. When she died, they even started comparing her to Princess Diana and apparently they're talking about creating a high budget film on her life.

Things like that infuriate me.

The internet is a venue for those with low self esteem and various other personal issues to lash out at others and vent because of their own inadequacies. Obviously not saying every single person online is like this, but you see these types on every website you go to. The most common term for these people is "troll", although they don't have to be classified as such to have those issues.

I have seen some complete nutjobs on many sites(not just GNR sites), and its a tad worrisome that such people exist. They should be at a psychiatrist's office instead of surfing the internet.

I remember a few years back, this chick from mygnr joined my old site. I knew her a bit at mygnr, and something just wasn't kosher about that situation. She walked into our chat room acting like she owned the place, and at that point I had to lay the smack down and see if my instinct was correct. I started lobbing questions at her and getting her comfortable, and then dropped a few sledgehammers on the room when asking her what her shoe and pantie size is. She got totally flabbergasted, couldn't answer what should have been a simple question for a woman, bailed out of the room and never logged in to the site again. Men impersonating women on the internet have trouble with such questions because men who do that have little if any experience with women.

A few weeks ago I saw her posting in an off topic section there. I laughed because nobody realized they were actually talking to a dude.

it's becuase the internets is a place where you can say things without having to worry about consequences, and trolling is generally accepted so you can say things you'd never say in real life.

for example, you know a black guy is on a forum, you can say "shut up you stupid ****" cause it's the internet and it doesn't reallym atter, you will never see these people, same with telling a jew "you guys made up the holocaust" and the mask stuff,if they know you like him, just for the sake of a few laughs, you'll get the "stupid **** deserved it" stuff. just gotta let it all roll off you, cause 99 % of the things people say they'd never say to someoens face

People are generally **** and the internet gives them a chance to vent out frustration.  Actually, the arrogance of some internet posters irks me more since I can just gloss over the trolls.  This is most seen in sites devoted to pro sports teams where a segment of people think they can do a better job running a ballclub.  Most of them always criticize management and say they would have done this or that.  It just gets tiring after a while. There's always a group of jerks who think they can run a ball club.

Actually, I've experienced the opposite of this recently as a favorite athlete of mine's recently died.  The press mostly focused on the negative aspects of his death and ignored his philanthropic deeds he performed while he was alive.

For me I didn't care for mj's later music or the allegations or what and I was pissed about all the news coverage and crap but I'm not going to mock him. I did admire billy mays and it did upset me when he died as I liked the guy and his business experience and knowledge so I can see how people get upset over mj and I won't start crap with them.

I think in todays workplace and life you got to be overly sensitive to people and can't blow off any steam so u hop online to shoot a load. For me the only **** talkimg I do is towards D mostly because its just good banter and competition within our games. I have nothing against him but I do enjoy our banter.
