WWE Asks Fans What Themed PPV Ideas They Want To See
« on: February 11, 2010, 07:38:09 pm »
WWE sent out a survey today asking fans if they would be interested in seeing the following PPV ideas. Additionally, the survery notes that the annual WWE draft would possibly be moved to a PPV night , with Superstars and Divas competing in matches to win draft picks for their respective brands.

PPV Name/Theme Ideas:

Tournament:

Single Elimintation "bracket style" tournament where Superstars would compete in multiple matches during the night to become the winner of the tournament.

Legends PPV:

Each match would feature a WWE Legend.

War Games:

Teams of 5 Collide in 2 cages. 2 participants begin the match with a new participant added every 5 minutes. This process is alternated between teams until all members from both teams are present.

Street Fight:

Main Events would feature a 'Street Fight' stipulation where there are no disqualifications & pin-falls count anywhere. Superstars often compete in street clothes.

Money in the Bank PPV:

The main event "Money in the Bank" match requires Superstars to climb a ladder and retrieve a briefcase hung high above the ring. The winner can "cash in" the briefcase for a championship title shot throughout the year. Qualifying matches earlier in the event will determine participants for the "Money in the Bank" match.

Roulette:

Main Event Stipulations would be determined by the spin of a roulette wheel.

Battle Bowl PPV:

Random Tag Teams compete together - sometimes arch-rivals - with the winning teams being put in a 2-ring Battle Royal. The winner could potentially recieve a championship match.

War Games for sure but with this no blood policy, who knows how it would turn out. Battle Bowl as well sounds cool.I'd like as many WCW events back as possible.

Most of these actually sound cool. I'd love to see The Legends PPV and MITB.

The tournament one isn't new--the WWE called it King of the Ring.  I'd vote against this one.

Legends PPV--could easily replace one of the many ppvs in between the money ppvs.  Assuming most of the wrestlers (legends) can still go, this one would be interesting.  I'd vote for this one.

War Games--easy vote for this one.  Great concept.  Don't know why they haven't used it yet.  They could also release a best of War Games dvd to coincide with this.

Street Fight--sounds too much like extreme rules ppv pass.

Money in the bank PPV--devalues the entire MITB match at Wrestlemania.  Kinda like what they did with the Hell in the cell matchup.

Roulette--Another WCW idea (from Halloween Havoc "Spin the Wheel Make the deal") and this one's pretty cool.  Only caveat is whether or not they including interesting matches and not bland ones on the wheel.

Battle Bowl PPV--Good one.  Although I'd wonder how they differentiate this one with the Royal Rumble.

This is just a merging of the Survivor Series-Royal Rumble concepts, which Mcmahon just admitted is obsolete.

Its now official: WWE has run out of ideas. Had Jim Crockett/Ted Turner not sold their souls to Mcmahon, lawsuits would be piling up over this tripe.

Once again Mcmahon shows that the NWA was the superior product at the time by being reduced to ripping off all their ideas. Any wrestling fans creaming for this **** need to go watch 20-30 year old youtube vids or go buy some DVDs. You get all this and much more without the endless, boring skits.

they should do **** for real and not have predetermined spins of the wheel.

make 2 people if they randomly get chosen come up with a match

Didn't that happen in WCW? I'm sure I remember reading Sting vs. Jake Roberts Coal Miner's Glove bout was not predetermind and they had no clue what they'd end up with, and although I'm not even sure what that match type entails, I remember reading it was also one of the shittest choices.

I think the genuinely random match stipulation would be intresting - you'd need to involve only the best wrestlers able to improvise (and have sensible stipulations...)

trouble is no one would ever believe it was real even if it where...

I wouldn't mind a PPV designed to keep the Tag Division current.

So like a Tag Team Battle Royal or Tag Team Tournament designed to give the winner a tag title shot at Summerslam or something like that
This is how it works, You're young until you're not
You love until you don't, You try until you can't
You laugh until you cry, You cry until you laugh
And everyone must breathe, Until their dying breath

There was at least discussion within WWE this past week of possibly making the Bragging Rights pay-per-view five-on-five match a War Games match, similar to the one WCW did.

I think they should.

The "Bragging Rights" match last year was a pointless thoway match from a RAW.

At least this way, the War Games match doesn't go down the same route.

I'd like it if by that time they'd built up stables and it was one stable vs. another rather than it simply being RAW vs Smackdown, I'd also like blood to be back on the active roster by that time, I miss that guy, come back blood!  :D
