Vince McMahon Rips TNA’s Style of Wrestling
« on: March 26, 2010, 10:03:00 am »
Speaking to Acorn Online, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon rips TNA for its struggle to make any sort of impact in the ongoing “Monday Night War” with his company’s RAW telecast.

Notably, McMahon explains that TNA offers a dated product–”pro wrasslin’”–that is not compatible with the expectations of the modern WWE fan.

“We’re in different businesses,” says McMahon. “We’re in the entertainment business and they’re in the ‘pro wrasslin’ business. It’s different markets. When they moved to Monday nights they threw the kitchen sink at us and only did a fraction of our audience. It doesn’t speak well for the type of product they’re trying to present with the tawdry, blood-soaked action. I don’t think that’s what the culture wants these days.”

McMahon adds that his company, which is “woven into the fabric of America,” represents a true family affair.

Says McMahon, “If you look at the audience for our live events you will see fathers and sons and mothers and sons and brothers and sisters. This is something an entire family can go out and enjoy together. It’s a lot like baseball in that respect.”

Dixie Carter wrote this on Twitter in response to Vince McMahon’s comments about TNA yesterday: “To be called tawdry from the King of Tawdry, that is some compliment!!”

WWE aims at kids but shows raw 9-11pm, it aims at kids and had it's biggest 'mania angle Vince v Bret (who the kids don't even know), it's 'family friendly' but featured elimanation chambers promising 'pain and suffering', has a guys finishing move being a potentially fatal blow to the head which any kid could copy and has it's biggest star (taker) promote 'black magic' and soul taking

WWE hasn't a clue what it is

'family friendly' it is not, 'adult friendly' it is not - add to this 'wrestling' or 'sports entertainment' and u have a utter mess
A nobody's opinion on the world of cinema

It's just Mcmahon 'flipping the bird' at his competition before he buys it. He did the same thing with WCW in 99-00.

This is no different.
I have wined and dined with kings and queens, and I've slept in alleys and dined on pork and beans.

Eric Bischoff has lashed out against Vince McMahon for Vince’s recent comments on TNA. Here’s what Bischoff wrote on Facebook:

“In response to a well articualted point by member Ben Salmon, I think the real reason VKM reacted publically to TNA is the fact that in the “go home” week of his show, he LOST 1 MILLION VIEWERS going into his make or break PPV of the year. WWE’s PPV business is getting slaughtered by UFC and ANY competition on Monday n…ights is only going to hurt. Thats why he’s gone from “no sell VKM” to selling like an Avon Lady.

So according to reports, Vince McMahon, the guy who wanted to watch his son-in-law perform a sex act on a dead body, asked me to make out with his wife AND daughter, owns a boat called “Sexy ****” and wanted to me to promote “Hot Lesbian Action” on his show considers TNA “tawdry”..come on Vince, you are a lot of thing…s (and many that I admire) but don’t be a hypocrite.”

WOW. Bischoff is playing into his hand........again.

To use an old NWA/WCW quote....

"It's over, Schiavone."

The LAST thing these clowns should be talking about is WWE. The organization shouldn't even exist to them.
