CM Punk Injured!!
« on: October 30, 2010, 08:46:34 am »
From Wrestling News World

Hopefully nothing too serious as a feud with Daniel Bryan looks on the cards and we should get some great action from the both of them.

CM Punk is injured but the severity is unknown. The former World Heavyweight Champion underwent an MRI on Tuesday to evaluate issues with his hip. Friends of Punk have said he is "very nervous" about his condition but it's unknown if even Punk himself knows the diagnosis as of this writing.

Hopefully he'll be fine, I'm guessing they were semi sure things would be as they started a new program monday before he'd even had the MRI.

From Prowrestling.net

WWE star C.M. Punk is scheduled to undergo hip surgery within the next week, according to Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com. The creative team has been told that he will miss at least three months, but they have been told to come up with ideas for a non-wrestling role for him.

They should have done the MRI prior to starting the feud.  Now they're kinda stuck scrambling.

Bit more on it

CM Punk will be having surgery on a torn tendon in either his hip or buttocks. Punk is scheduled to have it operated on any day now and there is no time table on when he will be back. Punk is still possible for WrestleMania but they won?t know for sure until after the operation. WWE had plans for a program between Punk and United States Champion Daniel Bryan.

So he might not even make 'Mania, gutted!

I know this sounds mean but I found that really funny that they don't know where the torn tendon is.  And that he might have torn a muscle in his ass.

- CM Punk chose not to have surgery because he got a medical opinion that he would be able to rehab his torn muscle tendon in his glute. Punk will be out of action until at least January but should be good for WrestleMania.

- CM Punk is now considered a sure thing for WrestleMania 27 after choosing rehab over surgery on his torn glute muscle. Punk is scheduled to return in January but it?s believed he will be doing announcing on TV until he can return to the ring.

Never thought I'd read about CM Punk going to rehab. :P

He does commentary on Superstars this week!  A reason to watch, his NXT commentary a number of weeks back was truly laugh out loud stuff.

WrestleZone has learned exclusively that while CM Punk has been scheduled for several house shows in the midwest, his future as a wrestler for WWE is still "undecided."

WrestleZone was told by a key WWE insider, "Vince (McMahon) and (Executive Producer) Kevin Dunn really like Punk on commentary, and they're considering making him a fixture of the broadcast team."

We were also told, "Vince thinks Punk has a future as a wrestler, but it looks like he thinks Punk is far too valuable as a commentator right now, and likes Punk's personality as a commentator a lot more than the Straight Edge character as a wrestler. Remember, Vince thinks Straight Edge is a holier than thou mentality, so Vince takes the heel character to heart."

"On commentary," we were told, "Vince thinks Punk has great timing and thinks on his feet much better than Matt Striker, whose stock has totally dropped in Vince's eyes."
