John Cena Injured!
« on: December 29, 2010, 01:57:13 pm »
- To update the earlier John Cena reports, every fan who has written in that was at the RAW live event last night says the injury appeared to be legitimate.

We now know more details on the match before it ended. After the Wasteland where Cena appeared to have been injured, Barrett began climbing the cage to escape but stopped as if he were waiting for Cena to come stop him. Cena used the ropes to get up as Barrett pretended to have his leg stuck in the cage wall. Barrett?s motions were described as slow motion as he waited for Cena.

As Barrett was on the cage, WWE trainers came down from backstage and were yelling into the ring. Barrett came down and Cena countered a punch with a quick submission for the tapout. One fan said Barrett tapped out immediately and didn?t even last two seconds in the hold.

While Cena did cut a promo and thank fans for coming and mentioning that he might need time off but would walk out on his own two feet, it?s said by the fans in attendance that he could not put any weight on his leg.

What do people make of the last couple of paragraphs?

WWE superstar John Cena has suffered a bruised hip that will keep him out of action for an unspecified period of time.

The nine-time world champion was wrestling Wade Barrett at a non-televised event in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, when he got injured, causing the match to abruptly end.

However, in good news for the WWE, the injury is not as first feared and Cena should be back in plenty of time for April's huge WrestleMania event.

The Wrestling Observer reports: "The injury was not as serious as feared land he is not expected to be out of action for any lengthy period of time, with it considered a day-to-day thing."

WWE's website also acknowledged the injury, stating that Cena's return to action will be evaluated on a day-to-day basis.

And Jim Ross tweeted that "knowing John, it won't be too many days".

Cena is currently off all WWE house shows, with Big Show taking his place and ring announcer Justin Roberts telling fans that he is currently "medically prohibited" from competing.

In the meantime, there are several possible candidates waiting in line to fill Cena's spot on Raw.

WWE name-dropped Dave Batista for the second week running, prompting speculation that The Animal might be on his way back to Vince McMahon's company.

With Chris Jericho's status unknown and Triple H due back in the future, WWE are likely to delve into their bag of tricks and bring at least one of the three back into the fold in the New Year.
