Always loved the epic Rumble performances guys could have without even winning it, great way to give midcard guys a rub or a memorable moment, Martel, Backlund, Valentine.  Shame they never gave Billy one, yet Bob Holly makes the list!

Maybe they didn't, but remember how he fought valiantly on one leg in 1999, and made a highly-publicised, hugely-awaited return to the ring at the 2004 one.

And Billy won King of the Ring, isn't that enough?? :lol2:

Don'r forget the year he hit the fameasser on Austin and nearly eliminated him.

I'm hoping his protege Dolph wins the strap at this years event  ;D  I was hoping for him to do an epic time in the Rumble, but a World Title is a pretty nice prize to...

Edge ruined Billy's ever lasting legacy when he called him "Billy Bitchcakes" then said ?I PROMISE not to Billy Gunn this King of the Ring win?

Can someone remind me how Vinne Mac lasted 56 minutes in 1999?  Was he actually in the ring that long or was it one of those he gets tossed through the ropes and takes a breather outside the ring?

Yeah it was the year he started with Austin.  They went under the ropes, throw the crowd as he ran away, to the bathroom, then the Corporation attacked Austin and Austin went to hospital.  Vince came back and just did commentary, then Austin returned later on.  After he'd eliminated everyone he got Vince from ringside.  Beat him up some more, The Rock came out, Austin was distracted, Vince threw him out, Vince wins!

I suppose this list doesn't begin to take in the entertainment factor. Ted DiBiase in 2009 for example? The three Legacy members stalking the ring did make for a great visual though.

I'd like to draw attention to Rikishi's booking in the 2000 Royal Rumble. He had some momentum anyway, but his running through the early entrants got the crowd behind him in a big way. When was the last time you heard a crowd audibly gasp for Viscera's entrance, and the prospect of him going up against Phatu?
