This is simply your faves, they don't have to be great wrestlers, its just about who YOU like.
1. Shawn Michaels - Starting watching wrestling in '90-'91 I was a big fan of The Rockers. I wasn't long into watching before they split up, but I saw plenty more via old VHS tapes. Not having Sky TV back then on which WWF was broadcast these old tapes in many ways were my main source of viewing. I thought The Rockers were an amazing team (and really cool to...looking back now, the ring attire and mullets...haha). When they split I was really into Michaels singles career. It was odd to many of my mates because they liked all the babyfaces, but I always found Michaels entertaining, workrate back then wasn't an issue being a kid and all you just didn't care you liked who you thought was cool...or "Badass" (Cheap Billy Gunn pop). My first real great memory of him was the '94 Royal Rumble. Seeing him, a midcarder get to the final four I thought was quite the achievement, I was on the edge of my seat hoping and praying he'd win. Mania X a few months later was the 1st PPV I saw live at my mates and that Ladder Match blew me away, that show will always hold good memories for me. From that I popped big for his Rumble wins, his great title wins and defences, forming D-X, even his role as Commish. Seeing him comeback though, it was like a miracle, after such an absence nobody expected it, and nobody expected him to be so good, but his bout with Triple H at Summerslam 2002 was an instant classic. Then though they painted it as a one shot deal, to think now he is still going (true he is on hiatus) and not just that, rather than being washed up he has had an endless list of superb matches. Just his Wrestlemania matches along are a treat, vs. Jericho, The Triple Threat at XX, vs. Angle, vs. Vince, vs. Cena, vs. Flair, vs. 'Taker this year. I think it was Powerslam magazine who announced him as the greatest of all time, because on the mic and in the ring the dude always brings it, he just needs to see the same dude Chavo did about his hair.
2. Billy Gunn - Yes, I am a fan of people who have had multiple gimmicks (Darsow that means you, I'll get to you a minute). Admittedly I wasn't the biggest Smoking Gunns fan, but I did find Rockabilly amusing and thought it had more potential than most did. His transformation once he formed The New Age Outlaws with Jesse James was tremendous. The guy become massively over (over night). What many tend to think is he road the coattails of D-X and wasn't that good, I have to disagree. The guy, for his big guy size was a very good in-ring performer, the Fameasser being one of my all time favourite finishers. Add in moves like his quality dropkick, The Jackhammer, The One and Only secondary finisher, the Stinger Splash, The Ric Flair flop. Fine he's no Kurt Angle, but he used what he had. He was great at working the crowd in his matches to and getting them behind him. I think I must be one of the few who remembers his KOTR '99 victory, winning with a quality fameasser off the 2nd rope onto X-Pac. Its a shame his singles push didn't work out, injuries were a problem for him to. His run as "The One" Billy Gunn had some highlights such as his short IC Run but his next big chance came as "Billy" in the team Billy & Chuck. I still think the wedding segment with Bischoff unmasking was quality viewing. Due to injuries this was really his last hurrah in WWE. Hopefully he'll return one day.
3. "Macho Man" Randy Savage - Yeeeeaaah, Dig It! Despite the great wrestler he was, his promos were always my favourite aspect, he really was off the hook in terms of crazyness. One quality WCW one was when he talked about how he went to see a shrink and she told him he was OCD. "One Cool Dude!". Honestly his match with Steamboat is really good but I never saw the feud/build-up, so maybe I would hold it in the really high esteem others do if I had. One of his most underated feuds was his one with Jake Roberts. And his heel World Title run which had the classic Mega Powers feud and Ultimate Warrior feud he "retired". Only to be brought back because of Roberts ruining his wedding. The scenes of Roberts setting the Snake on him and having it bite him, as well as Roberts slapping Elizabeth are Iconic, its a shame there blow off match was at "Tuesday in Texas" rather than at a bigger event. In a effort to push younger talent they had him do too much announcing and not enough wrestling, thankfully he did have one last good feud with Crush and they had a cracking often overlooked effort at 'Mania X, which for the time, much like the Ladder Match on the card, it was damn brutal. Currently I'm watching the Nitros from the start, and over a year in he's still in form, promowise and in-ring wise, you don't drop your veterans while they still have it!
