Lilian Garcia Announces She Is Leaving World Wrestling Entertainment

As reported earlier, World Wrestling Entertainment is searching for a new ring announcer who can sing. As it turns out, the situation does indeed involve Raw ring announcer Lilian Garcia.

Lilian Garcia announced on her website this morning, www.LilianGarcia.com, that she recently handed in her notice to the company as she will be leaving WWE when her contract expires later this year, hence the search for a new ring announcer. Garcia said she is getting married later this year and is looking to the enter a new phase of her life.

Here is her message in its entirety:

Hi Everyone,

I hope all of you are doing well! I am writing to address the situation in which WWE is looking for a Female Ring Announcer/Singer. The truth of the matter is that they are looking for someone new because I have given them my notice that I will be leaving at the end of my contract this year. It is with a heavy heart that I have made this decision because WWE has been my family from day one and you, the WWE Universe have always been incredible to me. The fact is that I am getting married later this year and have decided to enter into a new phase of my life but I will truly miss all of you and the WWE tremendously.

I read this today and was really upset with it. Lilian is one of the most down to earth, considerate and easy going people I've ever met. Met her a few times at house shows. Not only is she an amazing singer but out of all the Diva's she was the only one I thought looked the exact same on TV as she does in real life, which is obviously hot. My favourite Diva of all time!

Well if she feels she has to go, it's nice to know that she's leaving on her own terms and she'll not be getting replaced or 'future endeavoured.' I wish her all the best, but Raw won't be the same for me anymore without her presence.

- During a Yankees ticker tape parade on the streets of New York City yesterday, former WWE ring announcer Lillian Garcia was assaulted. She was thrown to the floor after somebody tried to grab her cell phone.

Garcia is OK but was shaken by the ordeal and grazed her elbow during the fall. Police hope to catch the culprit from CCTV footage after Garcia filed a police report.

Former WWE announcer Lilian Garcia was introduced before RAW tonight at Madison Square Garden and sang the National Anthem. Lilian lives in New York City and was visiting at the show so she did the appearance as a surprise for the live crowd.
