Melina Injured, Divas Title Vacant, Tournament starts on RAW

WWE confirmed on their website this afternoon that WWE Divas Champion Melina is injured.

Melina will be forced to vacate her title on tonight’s RAW. An 8 Divas tournament will be held on RAW tonight to crown a new Divas Champion. The participants will be Kelly Kelly, Maryse, Alicia Fox, Jillian Hall, Gail Kim, Eve Torres, Brie Bella and Nikki Bella.

Take that TNA  :rofl:

Lol, WWE needs to fight for supremacy against an aggresive TNA - and uses it for diva matches that enrages the very **** fans likely to bugger off to TNA...

If i was WWE i'd give the title to Maryse and let her defend it every week on RAW until Mania and then just unify the womens belts and let women go on both shows.

Also...:

PWInsider.com is reporting that former WWE Divas champion Melina is expected to be out until July at the earliest. Reason being is because of her scheduled ACL surgery. For those unaware, Melina injured herself during a match on December 29 in Manchester, N.H.

This tournament is either the chance to get the belt on Maryse or to finally push and treat Gail Kim with some respect.  The others in this tournament don't even deserve a look in, this does highlight how there should just be one Women's strap across 3 brands...

It better be Maryse.... I think if they were gonna put the belt on Kim they would have her chase it and win it not in a tournament.

Maryse vs Gim @ No Way Out or Mania makes the most sense to me if Kim was to win it.

what they should of done is what tna already did and have one single and 1 tag womens titles, I see more mixed tags and tag matches it would atleast make sense to have being a tag title, otherwise you have to womens champions for about 12 wrestlers. 1 in 6 a Champion?

So Nikki Bella was replaced by Katie Lea Burchill, who got jobbed out again, dammit, push her!

Looks like we will be getting the much predicted Maryse vs. Gail Kim final.
