RAW to go to 3 Hours?
« on: January 30, 2010, 05:29:25 pm »
Dave Meltzer reports that there is talk within WWE of making RAW three-hours each week if TNA moves to Monday nights for good. There has also been talk of keeping the guest host storyline booked if TNA goes to Mondays.

Apparently the USA Network is high on RAW going to three-hours but Vince and Stephanie McMahon are both said to be against it. Word is that this is something being talked about a lot among some in the company.

3 hours I can probably handle, providing the shows quality improves.  As for the guest host malarkey, well, that's something that has gotten very stale.

I don't see how an extra hour can make it any better, or any more appealing.  Nitro made the mistake of extending when they were good and the quality waned, no wonder Vince and Steph are against this, I doubt it will happen.

True.  I guess if we can't get a great 2 hour show then 3 hours is pretty much gonna be impossible.

Exactly, I mean I don't find myself watching the product thinking, you know what they need to make this better, an extra hour!

Its not like a whole host of people are missing out on television time.

The few who don't make it on tv get a match on Superstars.  If anything going to 3 is something I could see getting people to turn over to TNA.

Three hours is a long time. I'd be happier if they extended the main PPV's rather than the TV shows.

If they re-brand ECW and use it well there would be absoultly no need.

Now I didn't think of it that way, now that would work, and make sense.

I still don't understand, why in 2010 there is still a brand split... it was a great idea at the time cause it was booming with a lot of new guys etc...

now, its just stale and most of the reason is cause the talent pool is too shallow

U however, put the best of SD with Raw on one show and it would kick ass. Let ECW be a show for the up and coming guys.

It does seem weird with such a thin roster, many point to the fact that getting rid of it would be acknowledging it didn't work, which Vince wouldn't like to do.

True but the declined ratings, shitty guest host gimmick etc should be evident enough to Vince.

God damnit I am tired of hearing about Brand Split! It's not going to happen. Vince has 2 world champions and he can book shows and more fueds involving champions there is no way the split is going to end. It makes too much money. If anything they should COMPLETE the split and not have **** like Jericho or HBK showing up on Raw ECW, SD in 1 week, Have SD all about SD and nothing more, seeing the same guys over and over leaves no room for guys to move up the ranks.

Three hours of Raw will probably mean more talking and sportz entertainment junk.  As much as I'd like to think they'd increase the amount of quality wrestling, that probably isn't going to happen.  As long as the ratings remain stable, they aren't really going to change the format which means that Smackdown and ECW will be the shows with more wrestling content.

I can barely watch 20 minutes of this each week, I frequently just read the Tv reports from PWtorch.

The show is bad, I used to love wrestling, but this is terrible week in and week out.
