New TNA Global Champion!
« on: January 27, 2010, 09:42:03 pm »
A rare title change at a TNA live event happened today in the UK as Rob Terry of The British Invasion defeated Eric Young for the TNA Global Championship. This match likely wasn’t taped for TV and there’s no word yet on what the reason for the change was.

It was probably a "treat" for the fans at the show, kinda to show that anything can happen at a house show. I'd imagine Eric will win it back before the PPV and that it won't be mentioned on TV. Unless it's on TNA's website.

Whether it's a real switch or not is less signif than the thinking it shows

Hogan must like him....

Nah,it could just be a hometown guy getting the win in front of the hometown fans. Happens quite often actually. I know he is supposed to be a heel but he probably gets a big pop back home.

Rob Terry’s TNA Global Championship win over Eric Young in Terry’s hometown of Cardiff, Wales was filmed by TNA crews and should be appearing on iMPACT. TNA also filmed interviews with Terry’s family. Terry was said to be super over with the crowd.

Legit switch

what does this mean:

Terry has a job and the backing of TNA
World Elite is over
Eric Young is finished
British Invasion are finished

I really like Rob Terry (dammit man, what are u saying?)

think the global title should be Morgans but in my TNA Rob Terry could make champ - he's got the build, a good finisher and a monster gimmick and we have a star

Seems they are breaking him away from World Elite, which probably means a face turn, which I don't like, he should be a vicious no nonsense monster heel, but I'll see how it goes.  I'm guessing British Invasion will keep going as a tag team, Eric Young may keep his job, but be dropped down to curtain jerker status and Kiyoshi is probably already packing his bags and Homicide is still waiting for Jeff Hardy....

When did kiyoshi last have a match, let alone a singles match?!

What were TNA paying him to do?

Anyway, Terry needs a manager and then a monster push - have him crush his way to the top where he can tangle with Morgan

trouble with TNA is a too many big guys lacking direction

Abyss, Homicide, Terry, Lashley and Morgan - big strong wrestlers that can all wrestle, but how do you use them? Super heavyweight division?

TNA has exciting talent everywhere - coherant writing is all that's needed!

You mean Hernandez right?  :P Unless he's grown recently  ;D

Last match for Kiyoshi would have been Feast of Fired (I guess), last singles match was probably his webmatch victory over Kip James.
