I'm in London watching TNA live
« on: January 30, 2010, 09:25:43 pm »
Yep, ur resident TNA fan is at wembley for the London show

10,000 here atleast so new attendance record I'd guess

doug williams seems to be x division champ and rob terry was showing off the global belt - tna house shows are a bit different to WWE ones!

Crowd are on form - but boo all the faces and cheer the heels, what a perverse bunch!

JB is evidently not fired and just as well he works the crowd like a pro

ultimate x next

more later from ur man on the ground!

Haha, nice work.

The Williams title win is from this weeks Impact.

I think JB said he was working the euro tour, then taking time off, and his role on tv is done.

Keep up with the updates  :headbanger: :steelchair:

Right then - time for a write up

Wembley Arena was the venue - it's a solid 10,000 seats, TNA managed 8,000 last year (TNA's best), this year seemed full - 9,000+

first thought - TNA gives away 1000 tkts free for the impact zone but can get 9,000 here (at about $80 a tkt....) - set up shop in the UK guys, u tape it anyway!

First match - TBP v Sarita and Taylor Wilde with Hamada as guest ref

solid but unspectacular - plenty of posing which the crowd liked, TBP took the win but where chased from the building by the others

Second match - Desmond Wolfe v The Pope

Crowd initially loved The Pope but switched allegiance to Mr Wolfe pretty quick and The Pope became the heel. Another solid match ended with a Tower of London

Third march - Joe and Hernandez v Young and Rhyno

Joe was looking really relaxed and seemed to be having a great time, plenty of dives to the outside, good match overall with Joe pinning Eric following a muscle buster

Fourth match - Rob Terry and Brutus v Beer Money v Team 3d

Terry was showing off his global belt but they didn't announce him as the champ and people near me seemed uncertain what the belt was!

Brutus made a few quips about John Terry (footballer and adulterer!), crowd weren't pleased!

Rob Terry got in some good power moves - crowd chanted 'steroids' over and over, hilarious!

This was where the show really went 'to 11', Beer Money and Team 3d worked the crowd so well and Rob Terry went through a table, ace

Fifth match - Ultimate X: Sabin, Williams, Amazing Red, Daniels and Suicide

awesome match, plenty of 'please don't die' chants. Bumps galore - this should have been on tv imagine TNA feel a bit daft this wasn't on the Jan 4th show. Williams won with Daniels and Suicide on top of the structure

Sixth match - Styles v Angle for TNA title

Great match with a lot of back and forth, Styles hit an Angle Slam and Angle hut the Styles Clash. 'wooo's' everywhere! Styles hit Angle with the belt for the win

ultimately the matches where a sideshow to the experience - crowd where electric all night. I've seen Smackdown live twice and TNA last year so I'm able to compare - WWE events are like average football matches - crowd cheer at big moments but u could read a book in between. With TNA the temp never stops and neither do the crowd. Whether they were chanting 'Triple H' (ironically) or 'beer money' TNA crowd never stopped.

JB is a master on the mike and was always talking to the crowd.

No end of jibes against WWE and we got Dixie Carter talking to the crowd too

biggest cheer of the night - Kurt Angle's entrance, people went nuts - I was about 10 rows from the front and was lucky to not get crushed!

If TNA can build on their live reputation they'll beat WWE - it's a real experience, thousands of fans as passionate as u - this isn't a Monday Night RAW is Quiet

Just needed a Ric Flaur cameo and the crowd would have passed out from cheering!
