MITB - What do you expect?
« on: March 28, 2010, 02:12:59 pm »
Well the name says it all really.

This year we have a 10 man MITB match, but in reality only 3 guys will win it, McIntyre (the favourite), Christian (the safe bet) and Kofi (the outsider).

My question is what would you do?

My problem with Christian winning is that it almost gives away that Edge will beat Jericho as where McIntyre and Kofi can really benefit from winning this match.

Now i think that Kofi has worked really hard this year and would be really deserving of winning and for that reason i'd like to see him win, But i have been so impressed with McIntrye too. My only concern for McIntrye is that it might be too soon as to me he hasn't really had that big feud yet as where Kofi has had a good feud with Orton where he didn't look out of place as where McIntyre got battered by Undertaker only a few weeks ago.

It will be interesting to see what WWE does!

Does anyone think that McIntyre won't win?

and Does anyone think that Kane, Ziggler, Matt Hardy, MVP, Swagger, Shelton or Bourne have a chance of winning?

You knock Drew's chances due to him recently being crushed, but Kofi was crushed the other week by Batista, in both matches the 2 guys were highlighted to not be on that Main Event level, and Kofi by the end of his feud with Orton was clearly shown to not be on his level, so in that instance it's a level playing field, nobody in this match has been pushed as being on that level.

This match is the chance to show who stands out from the crowd.

Using old wrestling logic, Drew triumphed over Christian on the go home show so I'd of said Christian wins this weekend, but then everyone rushed back to the ring and took out Drew, and it was highlighted how nobody could stand him, thus making the fan think its 9 vs 1, how can he overcome the odds of being so hated?  So I guess he will and Drew is my bet, add in the fact that the commentators keep mentioning how the winner could cash in on the night, surely they've mentioned it too much for it to happen, I mean they wouldn't so blatantly ruin the surprise would they?

Also on a slight, unlikely spoiler note, I remember a house show ad the other month advertising a certain wrestler defending his MITB opportunity, since its a spoiler I'll put it in small text.

Yeah i take your point about Kofi, but i still think he has done more this year than Drew.

He was US Champ and i remember him getting good reviews as the champion from insiders and i think he's passed that level now but not anywhere near world title level

I just think Kofi might be one of the guys who ends up on SD after the draft and i think he'd be a decent winner of MITB as would Drew and Christian, but i just have this sneaky suspision that Kofi might get the nod due to his work ethic and stellar work this year.

I could see Drew getting moved to RAW in the draft and maybe going against Cena or maybe HHH.

Not just cause I need him to win but DREW makes the most sense.  I think he is doing really great with this push and he needs to roll with it and cash in,maybe around Survivor Series.  Every night he goes home to his new wife Tiffany, not a bad gig.

November?

With a MITB PPV mere months away I'd expect the winner to cash in before it otherwise you'd have too many damn briefcases  :hihi:

I'd go with Drew - Christian has had his title reign, Kingston was just flavour of the month - but Drew, well...Triple H likes him...

I'd actually be in a lot more confident in Christian winning but I've read that Vince doesn't really like or believe in him.  It would be perfect too as he could feud with Edge or Cena (anyone remember that mini program a few years ago).  There's the obligatory Shelton Benjamin holy crap spot.  I'm curious how they use Kane in the match and the 10 men concept is new, probably a lot of "spot takes out half the field" so it doesn't get too congested in the ring.

I think Christian has the more potential to go feuding and after a title if he wins it.  As for McIntyre, I personally don't see greatness in him....................yet.  Sure, he has great potential to go on and do well, but I'd rather see him go on a long title run with the IC Championship.  Maybe have him be the one to overtake Hony Tonks record.

Is it just me who wants to hear McIntyre come out and say "Unleash the Honk-a-Meter!" every week?? :hihi:

But I agree, I think Christian is more likely to win it, but it wouldn't surprise if Drew did. He just doesn't seem quite there yet. But who knows, maybe winning MITB will put him there.....

Shelton has probably realised by now that the only reason they put him in MITB Matches is for the "holy ****" spots. I'm sure he and Bourne will come up something this year. 8)

What are the odds they will crash and burn those 2 inside the first few minutes to clear the field...

Christian has had his title reign
Yeah but that wasn't a proper "World Title" one, as evidenced by the remark on Smackdown of Kane being the only former World Champion in the match, ignoring Christian, Matt Hardy and Jack Swagger's ECW World Title runs.
