you mean world title ok i'll buy it. but i dont think there is anything wrong with his name, i mean really it's not like he's "goldust" or something, just sounds liek a dude with a stupid last name, like swagger
Honestly I think the Swagger name is alright, saying that I thought the Nitro name was decent and was surprised when they changed that.

Maybe they will stick with it, this current push seems to be leading to a decent upper midcard spot for him, if they had any sense and did intend to change it they might well of already done it.

Since we're on the subject, I'm surprised that a guy with the name "Ricky Steamboat" managed to get over like he did. His real name, Richard Blood, sounds much cooler. 8) (But I think they thought it sounded too much like a heel name)

That is a hell of a heel name "Richard Blood" someone in creative needs to use that.

yeah but there's a huge difference between Ricky Steamboat and Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat. The Dragon part just makes it sound so much cooler.  ;D :smoking:

source: PWInsider

- According to sources close to the situation, WWE’s original plan was for Dolph Ziggler to defeat Rey Mysterio in the Intercontinental Championship bout. The exact motivation for the finish change, which reportedly occurred as late as Sunday afternoon, is unclear, but initial indications are that it was not a random case of WWE creative changing its mind.

As long as he gets the belt eventually, he'd got the better of Mysterio coming in, having beaten him down several times, Mysterio just got his heat back, come Summerslam they'll rectify this....on a BIGGER stage.  8)

Odd that they would change it at such a late point. Perhaps they wanted to give Mysterio a bit longer with the title. But if they're going to give Ziggler the title - which I assume is the ultimate plan - why not just do it last night?

Ziggler's alright, but I guess I'm not as big a fan as other members of the board. ;D

The specific details on the changed Rey Mysterio/Dolph Ziggler match finish have not yet emerged, but the decision was definitely political in nature. All that is known is that Ziggler was scheduled to win the Intercontinental Championship as of Sunday afternoon, but WWE ultimately decided to keep the belt on Mysterio. Mysterio had been promised a significant championship run when he made rumblings of leaving the company earlier this summer, but the exact nature regarding if and how that played into the decision is not clear.

The pesky little critter....

To follow up on reports following WWE's Night of Champions PPV where it was originally planned and later changed that Dolph Ziggler was scheduled to win the WWE Intercontinental Championship from Rey Mysterio, The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that when Mysterio was unhappy several weeks ago he was promised a real championship reign and not a "quickie" reign where he loses it right back. He reportedly didn't like the way he was booked before during his reign as World Champion where he would lose quite frequently and never get the wins back. Vince McMahon overruled the decision to put the IC title on Ziggler at Night of Champions as he promised Mysterio a decent run with the title. Mysterio is booked to defend the title once again against Ziggler at SummerSlam in two weeks.
