as a guitar player, u can tell Bischoff really knows how to play. Everything he was doing corresponded with what was being played.

They switched guitars so there was plenty of camera trickery afoot

thought impact was very good - but why was the x division forgotten 24 hrs after it got some exposure at destination x? Why did we need another global title defence?

...and couldn't they have come up with anything to explain why abyss hadn't spoken to Higan about Foley?!

It's getting better - but it's also so close to a decade old edition of Raw that I keep a calender next to the tv to reassure myself it's not 2001...

TNA WRESTLING are on course to treble their ratings in Britain thanks to the arrival of Hulk Hogan — declaring the UK as the key battleground in their war with WWE.

The number of people watching flagship show Impact, broadcast every Saturday night at 9pm on Bravo and 10pm on Bravo+1, has jumped hugely since January.

That period has coincided with the addition of Hogan to the roster, along with other big-name newcomers Ric Flair, Jeff Hardy, Rob Van Dam and Eric Bischoff.

Dixie Carter's company today announced the average viewership of Impact in the first 11 weeks of 2010 was 133,000.

Two recent shows reached record highs of 152,000 and 153,000 — almost three times the average number of viewers in 2009 of 56,000.

Carter said: "TNA have remained committed to the United Kingdom's wrestling fans far past our annual Maximum Impact tours — and it is beginning to show.

"The UK is ground zero in the battle to make a change for wrestling fans across the globe."

Ronan Hand, acquisitions manager for Virgin Media, who own Bravo, added: "We are very pleased with how TNA are doing and are grateful for all the work they do in bringing their exciting show to these shores, just reward for the burgeoning UK fan base."

According to the Broadcaster's Audience Research Board, the figures mean TNA Impact beats the first run rating of rival shows WWE Raw and Smackdown.

The comparison, however, is not entirely fair as the WWE shows are broadcast on the Sky Sports subscription channels in the UK and are repeated through the week where they add viewers.

But the news comes as a welcome lift for TNA, after Impact ratings suffered a big knock in the US by going head-to-head against a WWE Raw featuring Shawn Michaels' retirement.

TNA treats the UK so badly - why is Impact on Bravo - they trim the show to 2 hrs despite it being about their biggest aquisition - and the ppvs are on some channel I've never heard of

Bring us a PPV, get impact on a real channel and either charge for the PPV's or put them on a channel I can actually see!

Impact does well here because simply put we're far a far too cynical bunch for Disney Wrestling Entertainment - gives us violence u basterds!

They don't trim it for the UK, Impact is 2 hours, the issue was when they trimmed the special 3 hour one, that was a one off like, still bad.

Bravo is decent enough, it's free to Sky viewers nature helps the ratings and despite your loathing for the channel, it's promoted as a blokes channel, much like Dave, its perfect for the target audience, hence the good ratings, the biggest issue is the channel they have the PPVs on, I mean I know of its existence due to MMA, but on the grand scale of things its one of the most minor, non-existent channels going, most people who have it don't know they have it.

Ah right, I didn't realise, I still download it, are they bits that are sliced for legal reasons though?

I know Smackdown's received edits when Sky Sports weren't happy with the material and/or when it breached UK Copyright laws.

We shouldn't need cuts though, I mean heck we have less ads than the yanks...

TNA Made 2 mistakes

1 they should've had a better plan after Jan 4th.. they got a massive rating but guess what? the next week... they weren't on to capitalize... I guarantee they would be doing great had they kept on Mondays.. now people just kinda lost interest.

2. Orlando Jordan bisexual **** in PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING? who the **** is sitting around going? WOW, wonder if Orlando JOrdan is gonna oil up his gay pal backstage? Must see TV!! i can just hear the remotes clicking!

So u counter Cena and Batista with some bisexual angle? U gotta be **** kidding me.. who is writing this ****?

TNA only got an 0.6 rating in the states though.  That is really bad.  Impact on Thursday's got double that amount.  They have got to lower the standards and expectations.  At this point they should be hoping for incremental gains and building back to a stable rating (like 1.1) per week.  They can't lose ratings every week otherwise the entire investment in Hogan and etc will be looked at as a huge failure.

the cut bits in the UK are usually short backstage segments, bits with TBP seem common targets

Oh I loved the Orlando Jordan bit, sheer insane genius!

It was just so awful I couldn't help but roll around the floor laughing

it will feature on wrestlecrap for years

Russo - David Arquette, Bash at the beach 2000 and now OJ

he's pretty much monopolising crap these days

JB's totally unscripted 'i don't know what to make of that' comment is among my fav moments in wrestling!

All told I liked impact this week - oh no doubt it's ultra daft but I can't stop chuckling, must be 100 things every week that crack me up

Ric Flair's pensioner rants

Bischoff's cartoon evil

Scott Hall's drunk merriment

Oh, it's all gold!

Few things they can do for me - fire Bubba and get rid of abyss's magic ring

Good to see young guys getting the matches, The Pope is rapidly winning me over - it's like watching The Rock, a month ago I'd have laughed if u had said he was ready for the title...but now...

Also, what's up with all the eye candy - Chelsea, Bischoff's assistant and her scandalous dress...
