World Elite are a good idea - but need something to unify them, they dont feel like a single unit yet. Maybe matching attire would help

We have The British Invasion within World Elite within MEM.....lol, wheels within wheels

Thoght this weeks Impact was a bit tame - after lasts weeks we should have had TNA managent cracking down to regain control - and have them appointing Kurt Angle as the caretaker GM as 'a man they can trust'

...in true WWE style (and evidently WCW style too) they kinda glossed over the whole thing

About halfway through this past week's Impact and I know I sound like a broken record, but there aren't any times during TNA that I want to grab my remote and fast forward.

WWE, I can fast forward just about everything. When Orton and Cena are doing promos...... **** forget it

but with TNA, something about it makes me want to watch every second. I think it is because there are good feuds and storylines for everybody so u want to watch
I think maybe cause it reminds me more of the old school NWA,WCW i loved as a kid.

with WWE, u have the main storyline and then its like they draw straws to see who wrestles.

Dave Penzer introduces the Spanish announce team of Willie Urbina and Hector Guerrero. Mike Tenay comes out next followed by So Cal Val.

Xplosion:

* Shark Boy b. Q2 with the Stunner.

* Jay Lethal b. Slugga with a sunset flip.

iMPACT, Airing Thursday:

* The opening pyro goes off as Taz comes out and joins Mike Tenay and at the broadcast table. Don West is not at the table so it looks like Taz and Tenay on commentary. The Main Event Mafia comes out in full force in the ring. Kurt Angle tries to speak but is interrupted by Matt Morgan. Morgan has an axe handle and is angry about what happened at the pay-per-view.

* Angle says Morgan kicked him so hard he lost feeling in his extremities and got knocked loopy. He said he broke up the pin because he thought Morgan was being pinned. Angle goes on to claim he was so out of it he didn’t realize he pinned Morgan. Angle offers Morgan another chance, teaming with him against Team 3D in a tables match. Morgan accepts the offer and leaves. The Main Event Mafia remains in the ring.

* Beer Money, Inc. b. IWGP Tag Team Champions The British Invasion w/Kiyoshi & Sheik Abdul Bashir in a non-title street fight. Robert Roode and Doug Williams both bled in the bout.

* Madison Rayne was attacked by Angelina Love when she was on her way to the ring for a match. Love beat Rayne down, put her in the ring and pinned her. Velvet Sky came down to put a bag over Madison’s head but Tara and Christy Hemme came out to make the save.

* Samoa Joe b. Homicide with a Muscle Buster to retain the TNA X Division Championship.

* Sarita w/Taylor Wilde vs. Traci Brooks w/Sharmell vs. Awesome Kong w/Raisha Saeed vs. Christy Hemme w/Tara is up next. Traci pinned Sarita to win the match after Kong gave Sarita a butterfly facebuster. Kong went to the top for more offense when Traci stole the win.

* The Pope D’Angelo Dinero b. Consequences Creed w/Jay Lethal after hitting double running knees to the corner. After the match Suicide came out and went after Pope. Pope bailed before Suicide could get to him.

* AJ Styles comes out to make a major announcement. Styles, who chokes up through the segment, says it’s time to say goodbye to professional wrestling. Sting comes out without his makeup to try and change his mind. He tells AJ only losers quit and he’d be letting him down. Sting says he wanted to pass the torch to AJ, he says he was the chosen one. AJ hugged Sting and they both left to end the segment.

* Bobby Lashley comes out and joins Mike Tenay and Taz on commentary. Team 3D vs. Kurt Angle & Matt Morgan in a Tables Match is up next. Prior to the match, Angle gets into with Lashley and ends up punching him. Security comes out and Lashley leaves ringside. The match starts.

* Team 3D b. Kurt Angle & Matt Morgan in a Tables Match. Morgan was nearly suplexed through a table but Angle moved it enough where only one of the table legs broke. I’m told Morgan landed funny and might be hurt. They bought time to get another table. Team 3D slammed Morgan off the top rope through a table to win the match.

Xplosion/Dark Match:

* ODB b. Alissa Flash with a running slam. After the match fans can get in the ring and get their photo taken with The Beautiful People for $20.

TNA taped next week’s episode of iMPACT tonight in Orlando. Thanks to Wrestling News World and Tim Capture for these spoilers:

* Dave Penzer introduces Mike Tenay, Taz and So Cal Val. There’s a contingent of Spike TV who look like they’re going to film.

Xplosion/Dark Matches:

* Homicide b. Kiyoshi w/Sheik Abdul Bashir. Homicide debuted new ring gear as the top is a fake bulletproof vest with airbrushed stuff on it. Homicide picked up the win after hitting the Ace Crusher.

* Sheik Abdul Bashir b. Shark Boy

TNA iMPACT, Airing on August 27th:

* Prior to the intro, Daniels joins Mike Tenay and Taz on commentary. It is announced tonight will be the start of a Knockouts Tag Team Tournament.

* The Impact intro plays and the pyros go off. Referee Earl Hebner politely told our correspondent, Tim Capture, not to look directly into the pyro.

* TNA X Division Champion Samoa Joe vs. Suicide in a non-title match is ruled a non contest when Pope D’Angelo Dinero comes out and starts brawling with Suicide then Joe. Daniels comes off commentary to get in the melee. It is ruled that Joe will team with Pop to take on Suicide & Daniels later tonight.

* World Elite comes out for a promo. Eric Young says Sheik Abdul Bashir wants to talk. Bashir tries to speak but a loud USA chant interrupts him. Bashir talks propaganda about the Iraq war and George W. Bush. I’m told he gets a lot of heat live but it may not translate well on TV. Young gets back on the mic and says he wants to talk about Hernandez. Hernandez’s music plays and he comes to the ring. Hernandez and Young go back and forth with smack talk. Young says he respects Hernandez for knowing who he is and being like World Elite, guys who will never be respected in America. Young tells Hernandez he needs him to join World Elite. Hernandez says hell no puta, these people here are my familia to end the segment.

* Awesome Kong & Raisha Saeed b. Traci Brooks & Sharmell when Saeed gets the pin after tagging herself in after a Kong splash. Kong gets mad about Saeed tagging herself in.

* Jesse Neal b. Rhino. Rhino was originally ruled the winner after a spinebuster but the referee reversed the decision when Rhino hit Gore on Jesse after the bout. Rhino beats down Jesse more when Brother Devon runs out and makes the save.

* Abyss b. The Motor City Machineguns w/Dr. Stevie. It looks like Stevie “paid” the Guns to take the match. Stevie tries to distract Abyss but he catches Chris Sabin on a springboard and turns it into the Black Hole Slam for the win. Abyss gets a chair and comes back but Kevin Nash comes out before he can use it. Stevie is mad and pushes Alex Shelley and Sabin. They beat him up and leave. Nash gets on the mic and says if Richards has $50,000 for Abyss’ head then he’s in because Abyss already stuck his nose in his business.

* Hamada b. Daffney in a no-disqualification bout in her debut match. Hamada moonsaulted off the top rope onto Daffney through a table on the outside then got the win with a Juvi Driver.

* Suicide & Daniels b. Pope D’Angelo Dinero & TNA X Division Champion Samoa Joe win Suicide pins Pope after a slingshot Oklahoma Roll.

* Sting, Hernandez & AJ Styles b. Matt Morgan, Scott Steiner & Booker T after AJ gets the pin after a springboard cross-body. Morgan got knocked into a chair Steiner was holding before that, leading the the cross-body. Morgan argued with Steiner and Booker afterwards and ended up punching both of them out

Impact was awesome thursday

Taz makes a HUGE difference in the booth

I use to think announcers weren't THAT important, but yet, u can tell a 100 percent improvement.

A great example of why TNA are better than WWE was on Impact during the opening Morgan/MEM interview and then Street Fight between Beer Money and British Invasion

I haven't been able to put my finger on what has been missing in WWE but what's missing is "INTENSITY"

Did u see James Storm near the end of that match? HOLY **** he was just destroying those guys and it felt "REAL" Matt Morgan seemed genuinely pissed off in that opening.

Orton beats up HHH's wife and in the match NO intensity at all.

blood everywhere on Impact

Now, in a perfect world I'd say - leave the blood out of it

...but when you do suddenly everything seems so fake - someone gets busted open and the last thing on ur mind is 'scripted'

The way Magnus tried to suffocate Roode - it was so sick, kind of stuff a show should be ashamed of - and yet wrestling needs this, when it goes it takes half the interest from the show too

I'm 25 - and the second I'm handed some kiddy **** I just switch off

LOL@Taz callin Brother Ray-Bubba the whole match. That was great. I actually wouldn't have minded a 3 man booth as West was starting to get funny. I might be in the minority but I dislike Tenay.

HHAHAHA hope they don't get sued for that. It was hilarious

Loved the segment before that with Lashley and Angle.

See, i like how they do this feud. the time the PPV comes and they wrestle, its gonna be awesome cause u haven't already seen it 10 times on TV in a singles match, tag match, 6 man match. first time they go will be at the PPV and that is how it should be.

Leaves some mystery. If they wrestle in a tag match the TV show before PPV, u can tell who is going to win based on who wins on the TV show and that kills the magic.

It's hard for it to be as intense as they (WWE wrestlers) seem to be wrestlling each other EVERY month.  The big match feel is lost here at least in the upper card.  I'd say that UT-HBK did a good job of being intense since those guys didn't wrestle each other.

Orton-HHH wife had zero intensity because the crowd doesn't care about either person.  I remember Steph being really annoying when she was on tv and I think Orton is being force fed to the audience like Cena.

Regarding TNA,  finally they got rid of Don West!  Dude was like nails on a chalkboard.  I might actually be looking forward to the next TNA PPV since it most likely will feature entertaining wrestling for the majority of the PPV.  I can't remember when the last time that's happened.

Source: WNW, Tim Capture

- TNA taped part of this week’s iMPACT and more at the tapings tonight in Orlando. The order in which these air are subject to change.

* Sting b. Rhino in a TNA Championship qualifying match. The other winners will face off in the main event at No Surrender. After the match Rhino hit Gore on Sting, beat him down and hit his finisher again. The referees came out to break up the melee as Rhino gets heat from the crowd.

* The No Surrender main event currently stands at TNA Champion Kurt Angle vs. Sting vs. the two other qualifiers.

* Doug Williams b. Suicide in a TNA Championship qualifying match. Suicide was going for a top rope move but The Pope came out so Suicide dove to the outside onto him. He came back in only for Williams to hit Chaos Theory for the win.

* AJ Styles b. Chris Sabin w/Alex Shelley in a TNA Championship qualifying match.

* Hernandez b. Homicide in a TNA Championship qualifying match after hitting the Terminator (Ron Simmons’ old finisher when he worked as Farooq which is basically a side powerbomb off his shoulder). They shook hands after the match.

* Daniels comes out and cuts an in-ring promo. He is announced as the number one contender for the TNA X Division Championship. He calls out Samoa Joe so he can say something to his face. Daniels says he never thought they would face off again under these circumstances. He says there was a time the X Division Championship was the most talked about thing in TNA. He says it used to be just him, Joe and AJ Styles traveling and becoming family. He said they were just trying to make a name for themselves and mentions the 2005 Unbreakable pay-per-view. The event was headlined by Samoa Joe vs. AJ Styles vs. Daniels showing that TNA was the future, Daniels proclaimed. Samoa Joe says he doesn’t care because he has things to do. Daniels says like what, hanging out with the Main Event Mafia? Daniels says they’re scared of him and that’s why Joe is with them. Daniels says Joe lost his integrity and wants to know why he threw away his friends, pride and principles. Daniels says no one knows him anymore, not even his wife and son. Joe snaps, knocks out Daniels and leaves the ringside area.

* It’s announced Sting has **** ribs and is told not to wrestle. Sting says he’ll still compete.

* Christy Hemme & Tara b. Hamada & Sojo Bolt after a Widow’s Peak on Sojo Bolt. After the match Hamada gave Sojo a cradle Falcon’s Arrow.

* Consequences Creed b. Shark Boy

* Kurt Angle joins Mike Tenay on Taz for the next match which is Doug Williams vs. AJ Styles in a TNA Championship qualifying match.

* AJ Styles b. Doug Williams in a TNA Championship qualifying match.

* Jeremy Borash interviews AJ Styles after the match. AJ says he’s on top of the hill and will climb the mountain.

* Dr. Stevie vs. Abyss in announced for later tonight.

* Sting b. Hernandez via disqualification as Eric Young came out dressed as Homicide and attacked Sting.

* Hernandez gets on the mic and calls out Young. Young comes out in new gear while the British Invasion, Kiyoshi and Sheik Abdul Bashir sneak attack Hernandez. AJ Styles comes out the make the save but is beat up as well. Beer Money, Inc. comes out and cleans house to put the babyfaces in control. Team 3D comes out to join the babyfaces. 3D were going to put Bashir through a table but Scott Steiner and Booker T ran out and beat up 3D. The heels are now in control. Steiner and Booker put James Storm through a table as the Main Event Mafia music hits and the heels celebrate in the ring.

* Sarita & Taylor Wilde b. Daffney & Alissa Flash after Sarita hit a belly-to-belly suplex on Flash. The Motor City Machineguns are out with a box of tissues and join commentary. They have their own commentary table.

* The Pope D’Angelo Dinero b. Jay Lethal with running knees into the corner.

* The Pope cuts a preacher-like promo about enlightenment and how he’s The Pope and he’s going to baptize Lethal. Consequences Creed comes out and makes the save but Pop attacks Creed when his back in turned and leaves.

* The Beautiful People b. Madison Rayne & her mystery partner Roxxi when Angelina school-girled Madison and held the tights.

* World Elite comes out for a promo. They want Hernandez to join them and become part of the family. They call Hernandez out but they get Hector Guerrero instead. Hector says World Elite pisses Hernandez off and Eric is the problem. Eric says America is the problem and Hector should know that since he’s not American. Young told Hector to tell Hernandez to pay attention because he’ll give him a reason to come out and join.

* Mick Foley comes out to join Mike Tenay and Taz on commentary for Abyss vs. Dr. Stevie. Stevie attacked Abyss before he made it down the ramp.

* Abyss b. Dr. Stevie after a Black Hole Slam. Kevin Nash comes out without Abyss realizing and starts beating him down. Foley comes in for the save and tosses Stevie out to end the show.

Think we are seeing a 'restructuring' at the mo, seems a bit erratic but u can see this is a temporary phase and they are building again.

X division is coming back - joe's move back is a boost, though it does seem he's far more of a heavyweight guy these days

intesting times
