Raw is bore?
« on: October 13, 2010, 05:37:20 pm »
Raw has managed just 1 rating in the 3's in 4 weeks, which (checking the records) seem to be the worst run since about 1997...

What's gone wrong? Few times I've caught bits of it it seemed no different to usual, hell - with Jericho gone I might watch again! They got rid of Edge too, yey!

Is Nexus ratings poison? I quite like them, though I'll be stunned to hear if any have names (wheren't there more of them before?!). GM stuff seems to be gone too - another positive, or was it the celebrity guff that kept ratings up?

Its just middle of the road at the moment.  Improved from the guest host stuff, Nexus has been good for the show, but its never gripping, must see stuff.  I was reminded even more by this by the arrival of an awesome dvd today.  "WWF ****".  It reminds you how wild, crazy and fun things used to be.  Just got done watching a crazy Ivory vs Tori **** match, complete with ass, ****, mirrors over the head and scarring your opponent with an iron.  Quality  ;D

I've never understood ratings. I hear people talk of the good old days when shows drew a 6 or a 7 or 8. What the hell is that?? And how accurate is it? What about people who record shows and watch them later? Like I suspect many of us in the UK do?

Like Hammy said, Raw hasn't been too bad recently, they seemed to have practically ditched the guest hosts. Knoxville was being called a 'guest star' the other week. Guest hosts made sense - from a storyline POV - when there was no GM, but the two together just doesn't work really.....

Raw is terrible

predictable, terrible matches

it is honestly WCW Thunder before it closed down.

Matches make no sense other than the top feuds

why they are crushing Daniel Bryan with Sheamus is beyond me

not only does it make Bryan look bad but it makes the Miz look even shittier that he keeps tapping but Sheamus destroys him.

So when Miz cashes in, he will become the weakest, shittiest world champ ever.

RAWS problems are many and I will try to discuss them!

NO WCW to push them to become better, Vince has no one push or challenge him for the top spot in wrestling any more plain and simple. When Vince bought out WCW all he did was doom his own show plain and simple, when WCW was on the air for the time they brought out the best in Vince and the WWE forcing Vince to some of the off of walls things just keep up with WCW. The Monday Night Wars was the best thing to happen to the WWE because give us wrestling fans to different style of wrestling to watch and it made you choose sides, plus it force the WWE to come up with new and fresh storylines just to keep their fans. Not too mention it produce such stars as The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and many others.

Without no one to challenge RAW, Vince and the writers have gotten stale and see no need to push for off the wall storylines or fresh ideals to keep the wrestling fans interested in their product.

Another problem that is killing RAW is there is no Megastar on the roster, oh yeah you have Triple H, Orton, and Cena but they are no Rock or Stone Cold, even HBK. Too me The Rock, Austin, and HBK where megastar that brought out emotion of the crowd when they step inside that ring and whoever they face the brought out best of that person too. I am not dissing Triple H, Orton or Cena but let's face it those three are getting stale as stale can get and I for one hate seeing them on RAW! Not only that but Vince and writers are looking for the next megastar like The Rock, or Austin to come along and I hate to say it but it is going to take some time before that kind of wrestler comes along for a long time.

New Blood that is another problem with RAW you have all this young talent on the roster and what is the WWE doing with it? Nothing at all using it for the opening card and then letting it go to waste come on, you are telling that Daniel Bryan (I hate that retard name, I think they should let him use his real name Bryan Danielson.), is not good enough to beat Shemus and what about Evan Bourne are they ever going to use this guy in the right way and for that much Nexus what happens to them when this angle is used up? WWE has all this new talent and there is nothing to do with it and it is going to waste plain and simple.

The Brands is another problem with the WWE I say screw the Brands I could careless about the RAW Brand or the SmackDown Brand, I say end that crap and make it all one big roster so we can see all the wrestler on each shows. Brands are killing RAW because people are tired of seeing the same old crap day in and day out, the Brands have had their time and now it is time to do away with them and open the rosters up!

It is not just RAW that is boring it is the whole WWE and something or some one is going to have to step up and tell Vince that things need to be change or another wrestling promotion is going to have to step and challenge Vince!

My heart burns with a desire as it screams out for me to show you the error of your ways, and set you on the path of Righteousness!

I know this has been discussed to death before, but the problem with that is that you'd have a main event scene with:

Cena
Orton
HHH
Undertaker
Edge
Kane
Mysterio
Punk
Sheamus
Show
and for now, Nexus

Guys lower down the card would have less time or even none at all. :undecided:

Well not quite so, a lot of those guys wouldn't get a look in either.  Punk, Mysterio, Kane, Big Show would not get near the title with the brand split ended.  And only one Nexus member is a headliner now.  Maybe if Triple H and Undertaker retired as well there would be more room at the top although to give an idea of how stale things have been in recent times in the main event scene John Cena has been the face of the company and a headliner for longer than WCW Nitro was on the air

I would have thought that good drama can't be done within strict rules

We know where 'the walls' are in WWE and so know what happens, because we know what can't happen

People knock Cena, but without him at the moment i'd fear for RAW.

I like Orton, but entertaining isn't the word.

With Jericho and Edge gone... it just seem all about Nexus. Even the Title picture seems to be secondary.

I wanna see more Miz, Bryan, Punk, Morrison etc. At the moment it seems mostly Cena & Nexus with Orton, Sheamus & Miz in and around.

Great Angles like Nexus is strong enough not to be involved in the title picture at this time of the year. From Rumble onwards... thats fine, but i don't understand why Orton gets dragged into it.

I also wonder about the Miz... he seems to have stalled. Tapping out a few times, and the odd interview but seems to have taken a bit more of a back seat, when i thought we'd see more and more of him.
