^I'm guessing they'd rename him 'FTW' or something. :D

Maybe WWE feared having someone who'd done all the jail time as he had as the face of the promotion?  R-Truth's pushes always falter since he can't do any Canadian shows because of his criminal past, as a title holder, it would become an issue.  There are also the rumours that MVP was a pot smoker and didn't like the company stance on it.  Then there is the other thought that he just isn't Main Event material.

Miz - Arquette territory, bs, the dude is fantastic, he has spent the past few years working his ass off to transform people's perceptions, the JBL's and the fans who thought he didn't have it and he's done a damn good job, to compare him to a skinny actor who showed up for a short goofy stint to promote a movie is whack!

The Piper, Steamboat, Perfect etc. never held a title argument gets tiresome.  Does the belt get passed round to often at times yes.  But these days more title reigns are guaranteed, they have to occur, with all the increased tv and ppv, its a different set up to back in the day, stories are processed and a much faster rate, those guys were in their prime during 3-4 PPVs a year periods, things were stretched out, you had merely one World Champ, put simply, those 3, these days, with their talents would have reigns, well maybe not Steamboat, I bet they'd say he was too boring, but you get my point.

Miz, back even in the Attitude Era would've NEVER sniffed the world title. Just shows how shallow the WWE talent pool is.

I would have to disagree with the last 2 post but this has nothing to do with past jail time and there is ways to get around those trust me.

What it boils down to is two things how well you play the game and who booking crew is liking at the moment because let's face it if the booking crew does not like you then you are not going to get a sniff at diva title!  As for the pot smoking thing, I mean really does Jeff Hardy and his drug problem ring a bell? The WWE put the title on him and his title push was to try to get him off the drugs, and he was the face of the promotion, and then there was RVD who admits to smoking pot and he was WWE champions too! It is all about who catches the booking team eye and The Miz must be doing something right because I believe he will be champion to Royal Rumble or WM.
My heart burns with a desire as it screams out for me to show you the error of your ways, and set you on the path of Righteousness!

Hardy was like the most over guy in the promotion, and he got sacked for his drug problems before, he was actually passing tests and "supposedly" alright when they finally gave him a title reign.  RVD got busted with drugs on the wrong side of the road.  Within a week he'd lost both World Titles.  MVP has never had popularity on the level of either of those 2, not even close.
