Linda McMahon planning on running for Senate?
« on: August 15, 2009, 01:16:27 pm »
Rumours swirling about suggest Linda is planning to run for a seat in the Senate in 2010

Linda would be running as a Republican - people over here dont understand Republicans. People here view Democrats as right wing lunatics - Republicans are generally viewed as they appear in the Simpsons....

...now we've all heard of her political meddling with the Board of Education in Conneticut so this might not be too far from the mark

For us WWE fans it means trouble - people will be pointing to her evil husband and his reprehensible show. Does this mean we're going to see a super sanitised WWE with John Cena reading childrens stories as the main event?

I'm tempted to say - yes, it could well mean that

...but it would also mean Linda has to step down as CEO - so its not all bad news

She could be mistaken for Hillary Clinton without a close-up.

She should of stepepd down as CEO when she started work for the CT board of education and seperate herself from wrestling, why should all us fans have to put up with a pg watered down show because she cant seperate herself. I could care less if she runs but I dont think WWE can be anymore calmer unless Raw turns into a opening match of Kofi vs MVP playing rock, paper scissors, 2 out of 3 for the US Title and a Main Event with Cena, HHH, and Orton playing Duck Duck Goose for the WWE Strap.

Seperate yourself now

He'd probably make it look better than her when Austin gave her a Stunner on Raw...

The following was released by WWE this morning:

WWE®’s Linda McMahon Resigns to Run for U.S. Senate

World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. today announced that Linda McMahon has stepped down as Chief Executive Officer after announcing her candidacy for the United States Senate, representing the state of Connecticut. Vince McMahon assumes the duties of Chief Executive Officer in addition to his current position as WWE® Chairman. McMahon will be supported by the seasoned executive management team already in place and led by Chief Operating Officer and board member, Donna Goldsmith.

If the went PG for her, then if she has stepped down does that mean PG could go, or as wife of the Chairman is that still too close to home?

Lol @ her running for the senate

Every Democrat in a 10,000 mile radius will find the Smackdown with her in the loony bin with Vince running about with Torrie Wilson...

..should finish her quick!

WWE will become ever more PG untill she's defeated (and the price is RAW may just be the start)- but once she's lost they should start to 'regenerate'

For the CT experts here:  Does she stand any chance of winning at all?  Isn't Conneticut generally a Democratic state?  I think she still has to get past the republican primary which should prove difficult before even getting to challenge Chris Dodd.

According to The Hartford Courant, YouTube.com have removed videos featuring controversial WWE angles from the past years. Copyright complains were made by World Wrestling Entertainment following it being used as ammunition against Linda McMahon’s Senatorial campaign.

Videos removed included the “live sex celebration” between Edge and Lita, the infamous Katie Vick angle where Triple H humped a “dead” mannequin to mock Kane, and a “stimulated ****” between Scott Steiner and Linda’s daughter Stephanie McMahon.

Politico.com has an article up that paints former WWE CEO and United States Senate hopeful Linda McMahon in a very negative light. The article includes quotes from several former WWE employees, who say it would be downright wrong for McMahon to reach such a high position of power in the United States government. Here are some quotes:

Joanie “Chyna” Lauer: “If there is a race to Capitol Hill, I hope she gets knocked off before she even starts.”

Bruno Sammartino: “I would not vote for her because I know what she contributed to the wrestling world with her husband. The vulgarity, the nudity, the profanity, all that kind of crap — it bothers me.”

Larry Zbyszko: “If the people in Connecticut are stupid enough to elect Linda, that’s their problem.”

Superstar Billy Graham: “This campaign is the height of hypocrisy. I believe the voters and citizens in Connecticut deserve to be told the truth. In no way does she have a rightful place in the U.S. Senate. The fact that we were out there experiencing trauma and drawing in untold millions for the company [means] we should have at least had some sort of health insurance.”

The Blue Meanie: “We’re the guys out there sacrificing ourselves. You’d think they’d throw us a bone. Sometimes you wondered if they saw their employees as humans or farm animals It was like being in the circus. You’re shipped here, perform there; it’s almost like you’re disposable.””

WWE’s lack of health insurance is at the heart of the wrestlers’ grievances. They allege that McMahon and her husband, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon, ran a billion-dollar company that provided no health insurance for the wrestlers who put their bodies on the line to help turn the WWE into the global phenomenon it is today.

The Blue Meanie helped turn WWE into a global phenomenon? :P

But Sammartino saying he wouldn't vote for her because she contributed "vulgarity, nudity, profanity" (a direction I thought was more down to Vince than Linda) to wrestling? Yeah, I doubt that's the direction she'd go for if she got elected, Bruno...

Yeah but she was meant to say, "Husband, dear, no that is a horrendously vulgar idea, you are not doing it!"

Bruno's comments crack me up, they are so 'angry old man', bet he goes on to praise Eisenhower and how the 50's were a golden era

nudity in WWE/F? I remember about two instances in 10 years!

Profanity? Surely Scott Steiner's swear is the one and only example?

Why can't the men wrestle in suits and the women in ballroom gowns eh Bruno?

Here's some profanity for u: go run out the clock in Florida!
