Raw was so close to being great last night

Edge being back is a huge shot in the arm... too bad he will go to SD and I won't be able to see him

That Bret vs Vince thing is exactly what I was hoping for. Sounded non scripted, real

Then guess what? it all went to **** with Batista attacking Bret and instead of fans chanting for Bret, we get **** Cena chants.........How disrespectful to an all time great to chant for John **** Cena who sucks so bad instead of one of the all time greats

Shoulda had HBK come down and help Bret, then HBK super kicking Bret, joining up with Vince thus getting his WM match against UT.

BUt no WWE **** SUCKS at booking

What do you expect, Bret's last match in WWE was 1997, half those kids chanting weren't even born then.  Times have changed, Cena is their hero.  With Bret's inability to wrestle, much, a tag match could be on the cards, the build-up with those 4 massive names could be fantastic!!

I thought the physical part of the segment looked so awkward and overall dissapointing. I realise that Bret is limited and has to be careful but still.

Oh, and D, that would have been great. HBK "will do whatever it takes to get his match with Taker that he'd even superkick Bret into oblivion and side with the evil McMahon."

Nonetheless the show was interesting. I predict a Cena/Hart vs McMahon/Batista match at Mania.

yeah but that sickens me

bret hart is one of the 5 greatest in ring technicians of all time...... Seeing him used in a role where has to be hidden in a 4 man tag......... just horrible... I'd rather remember Bret for what he was than see this.

See my HBK angle.. then it fits two angles into one.. HBK heel turn and he gets his match while betraying Bret again.

U can say what u want to Hammy.. When Hulk Hogan took on The Rock.. The Rock was thought to be the biggest face of Hogan levels..

Even with Hogan a heel, Rock got booed out of the building.

Well firstly Hogan had stayed relevant.  That was 2002, nWo was ruling the world 1996-1999, and the product back then was aimed at a higher age range, and just to make the point again, it's Hulk Hogan, he's a Pop Culture Icon, everyone knows who he is.  He shows up in reality shows, and now TNA, his profile is out there.

This is 2010.  Bret left in 1997, from what I was told his WCW run was completely forgottable, and since 2001, weve had a DVD release, a Hall of Fame appearance, and thats it, his name might be mentioned in angles, but he hasn't been there keeping himself relevant and current like Hogan has, and once more, Hogan trancends all these rules and what not, he is the biggest thing in the business.

I'm not sure having Michaels turn on Bret would be a good idea. I think Bret feuding with Vince rather than Vince and Shawn is better. Bret and Shawn shaking hands was a great moment IMO and should be the end of their rivalry.

Also, I think it'll be two different matches at WM. Cena/Batista and Bret/Vince. I can't see them teaming up Bret and Cena, two guys who've had nothing to do with each other, at WM. It would just come across as a cheap way to get Cena over IMO.

EDIT: On another completely random note, how come Jerry Lawler is sticking up for The Miz recently in his fued with MVP, but no other heels? Except Orton, kind of....

I think a major thing wrong with WWE right now is the **** announcing. Cole is horrible... how many more times is he gonna call MVP the US Champ? Lawler is watered down now........... and the RR announcing was atrocious.

so many mistakes.

I see your point but they've already done Bret/Shawn reconciliation and that wouldn't make that much sense.  Plus Shawn has the DX breakup to contend with and the match with the Undertaker.  That's too many angles for one guy to handle.  At some point, I always suspected that Vince would have some henchmen to help him against Bret.  He's pushing 60 years old.  I'd prefer that Bret pick someone other than Cena to help him.  I do think that the physical conditions of both Bret and Vince makes the booking of this stuff a bit more difficult than usual.

Great stuff by Bret and Vince regardless.  Especially with some of the real life characteristics and stories.  Bret's stroke and recovery and Vince's preference towards guys who can talk and have good physiques --in terms or wrestlers that he likes to push.

I can't believe you guys didn't mention Shatner's renditions of the WWE theme music of certain superstars.  That stuff was comedic gold. ;D ;D

I can see both sides of this. Bret being back is great. Obviously he is older and has limited capabilities these days but just him being around is amazing IMO.

It looks like they are roping in Batista & Cena into the feud.... i have no problem with a Tag Match but i would say at Wrestlemania that Cena vs Batista could be a great spectacle and i would say they are probally wasted in a Tag match on the greatest stage of all..... Mainly because Bret won't lose... i'm sure of that and therefore the match is pre-determind and obvious.

HBK kicking Bret would have been dumb after the reconciliation IMO. If you didn't have that then it would of worked, but not after.

Bret vs Vince was never gonna be Hogan vs Rock, completely different situations. Both still saw themselves as wrestlers Bret and Vince both do not anymore.... and like Hammy said Brets last meaningful match was against Benoit in WCW IMO.

I don't think it de-values Bret or his legacy to see the way he is now.... its completely understandable. Bret being involved at all is close to a miracle both Medically and emotionally. However when you saw how gentle Batista was with Bret you dod think, Jesus.... he is super fragile. That could be a massive problem as this progresses IMO and is the most worrying thing. I hope its just wrapping him in cotton wool until the real thing, otherwise i think there could be a real problem with Bret Wrestling. If thats the case then you could get a Cena vs Batista match with Bret and Vince in each corner. Watch this space!

Good show.

HBK going insane is just amazing to watch. Interested to see where this is heading.

The ending was good. I liked that whole promo. Bret Hart coming out from the crowd and attacking Vince was good.

Agreed, a very enjoyable episode.  The way Carlito was laughing in the background I thought he was going to get superkicked.  The opening match was a great way to elevate Sheamus as well, good clean win, but also a back and forth match which didn't damage Christian either.

I liked the Tag Match, although WWE Game aside, I would have liked the belts to go Straight Edge, but I understand the logic to, I mean creative probably weren't chopping at the bit at the prospect of Luke Gallows being on 2 shows.  This should help elevate The Miz to Main Event status if done properly, it'll be interesting to see who they feud with.  Since Miz has an existing feud with MVP, The World's Strongest Tag Team may make a re-appearance I suspect.

Those bastards! :fu:

I've liked the Bret angle so far, but TBH he looked a bit 'lost' at the end of Raw. Which is understandable, seeing that he hasn't had match in over ten years and is in his 50s. Hopefully he'll be better prepared come WM.

Punk is good and I like the Straight Edge Society angle, but all the raising of the right arm and talk of a Propaganda Minister is slightly worrying.... :P

Hammy mentioned Carlito and I was also quite shocked he didn't get kicked. Could this be the start of a push??

I also actually LOLed when Jerry Lawler said "Look at how happy he looks" when Teddy Long was shown looking very emotionless at ringside. :hihi:

The guest host wasn't too bad either I thought.
