Don West FINALLY Replaced

Taz will now officially be doing commentary thank goodness






As reported here yesterday, Taz has replaced Don West as the color commentator of TNA Wrestling. The change took place at Monday night's television tapings, as Taz called this week's iMPACT! taping along side Mike Tenay.

Taz posted a couple of comments on his Twitter page regarding his new position: "I am already LOVING my new role in TNA," Taz wrote. "I had a blast with Mike (Tenay) also. TNA will sound different starting Thursday."

Taz also addressed Don West, who he is replacing on air. "I'm also happy Don is TNA still. It shows the type of front office we have. Dude has been there for seven years. You don't just can him - promote him."

While Don West will no longer be calling the action from ringside, several sources have confirmed that he received a promotion in TNA's merchandising division and is not being let go.

It should also be noted that with Don West being removed as the announcer that he was the last of the Jeff Jarrett supporter too.

All I can say that it is about time they put someone who will give the heel point of view, and I am sorry to say this that Don West was not doing a good job as a heel announcer. Having Taz on the announce team will hel Mike Tennay out big time because Taz brings a lot of wrestling knowledge and he will be tell the fans what move a certain wrestler is doing too. 

This is a good move for TNA because they need a good heel announcer and Taz will provide them with that side of view.

Also it should be noted that TNA is not done with Don West, from what has been reported TNA has promoted him the head  sales department of TNA.

Mike Tenay used to be phenomenal. He was THAT good, he was even able to feed veteran wrestlers Heenan and Rhodes things they didn't know. WCW Tenay was the commentator that Michael Cole has always aspired to be but has failed miserably at.

As for Taz, never thought he was a great announcer. Only things I can remember him saying in his long stint as  Smackdown color commentator are things like: "Off the hook!" "I agree" and "Girl-pants." 

As for Don West, I personally didn't really mind him. If he would stop shouting whenever it isn't necessary, and take a breath in between sentences he actually wouldn't have been half bad. However, his true calling lies as a merchandise salesman. I love watching "Don West's Insane Deals" even though I never buy anything!

He contributed much, I like him - but TNA needs to start 'crossing the line' and changing things
