Maybe they can bring Christian over for Edge's place?
Could do, Jericho and Christian were a superb tag team back in the day.

Why is Finlay still using that music.
Because he's a PG babyface, it is awful music, really its amazing how an entrance theme can cause you to dislike someone so much even when they are a damn good wrestler.

Even though Finlay is supposed to be this quiet, tough badass, when he had Hornswoggle with him, the music made some sort of sense. Hornswoggle is on Raw now, get it sorted! Hell, make him a heel again, he was cool then.

Anyway, the Punk/Hardy and Jericho/Mysterio feuds on SD are both being done well (though is Jericho/Mysterio done??), hopefully Morrison can find himself in a good feud soon. Surely the win over Punk will lead to something??....

I wonder if the World Title match at NOC will be some kind of gimmick match?? I would have said a Ladder Match but we just had one of those so I doubt it.

Also good to see that Melina wore that same outfit she had at The Bash. ;D

Well they announced on Smackdown that the Main Event next week is a rematch between the two (Check the spoiler thread for results).

Anything is better than the Michael Jackson segment...

I say just a straight up wrestling match works fine.  We had the short MITB cash-in which doesn't count, the screwjob finish to a solid match, now we just need a really good 1-on-1 battle.

I'm not sure whether you are implying you like the outfit or like the idea she is dirty and doesn't bother washing or changing her clothes  :P

That was truly bizarre and served no real purpose. Did it??...

If Punk hasn't gone fully-fledged heel by NOC, I'm not sure if they'd have a proper ending to a 1-on-1 match. Surely Punk will win by some shady method again?? Perhaps a No DQ match? They could say that it's to make sure there won't be a repeat of what happened at The Bash and Punk wins by doing something heel-ish (ie. clobbering Jeff with a chair) but perfectly acceptable in a No DQ environment, furthering his heel turn. If the feud is still going by Summerslam, maybe then there'll be a special match type.

I never thought of it like that.....

Ah!  So they have a No DQ match and he gets the some random heels to run in and interfere.

Next time on Smackdown"Hey, it was No DQ, I'm not a bad person, I was using the rules to my advantage".

Incidently is anyone else holding out for a Ricky Ortiz, Jesse and Curt Hawkins 3-Man Tag Team?  Just me, ok.  :(

Fantastic show!

We don't need a match of the week thread because the Main Event of this show is the winner by far.  20+ minutes of Jericho and Mysterio finishing their feud in style, the IC Title in the Main Event, going on about how much the belt means to Mysterio, Jericho being desperate to win the belt for a 10th time, these two have done wonders for the belt and the set-up at the end putting Dolph Ziggler over and having him standing tall as the show went off air, talk about promoting young talent, when was the last time RAW finished with a fresh face?

Assuming Ziggler eventually gets the belt a feud between him and Morrison could be damn good.  They had a nice little match and it'd be decent down the line seeing them get a decent 20+ minute PPV one or two.

The Hardy and Punk feud carried along nicely, with the whole, "I'm Straight Edge, I don't get suspended and fail drug tests" stuff, really good dynamic.

Will R-Truth's alter ego form a team with Jesse, I hope so  ;D

Hart Dynasty are looking good but I'd like them to get more time with some better wrestler.

I'm not really interested in the Women's Title, when Natalya gets involved I'll start paying attention.

It was good Edge didn't feature much because it showed the show can do well without him, although obviously he will be missed.

Last I can remember is when Lance Cade wiped out HBK & HHH (I think) and alligned with Jericho.

...I remember me & you were so happy that day!  :D

True, good times, although thats the thing they were aligned.  Ziggler was left to bask in the spotlight on his own, making it all the more important.

Just got watching Superstars, the Smackdown part was easily the strongest.

Cryme Tyme and Hart Dynasty had a nice little match to kick things off, I'm enjoying these well balanced feud, its helping both teams, more of this, with more teams please!

The next segment with Mysterio and Ziggler was also very good.  Ziggler is a very good talker and has plenty of heat, I'm really looking forward to this feud and their match at Night of Champions.

Finished watching Smackdown, another decent show, only thing I didn't like was Layla taking up time and the R-Truth vs. Kane match.

Cryme Tyme & Eve vs. The Hart Dynasty was very enjoyable, that clothesline that Natayla hit on Eve looked fantastic and Eve to her credit did a good job of selling it, as embarrased as I am to say it I'm even liking the "Word Up" segments now, at least Jesse has an existence because of them  :D

Punk and Morrison kicked things off with another good match in their little feud on the side, not as good as the first one but very enjoyable nonetheless it shows how far Morrison has come as an in-ring star because I remember when these 2 feuded on ECW I didn't really enjoy it or the matches, now the idea of these 2 fighting is a dream pairing.  Punk's slow heel turn continued nicely with refusing the handshake.  And going back to Punk his pre-match promo with Jeff was great again as he made some really good points, Jeff has so many fans, kids and he is such a bad example when he takes pride in the fight that he has never been to rehab and oh wow he's been clean for 365 days.

The Main Event was very enjoyable and the finish worked with the Punk is he really a heel storyline?  Jeff looked to throw Jericho at Punk, so Punk just threw him back, and an angered Punk understandbly left Jeff in the ring being beaten down, why would he help his opponent 9 days before Night of Champions?  That would just be stupid.

It's R-Truth's new alter ego, inspired by Blue Streak the Martin Lawrence movie.  With him, Jesse, Eve and Cryme Tyme you have a stable in the making  ;D

U saved me watching raw this week! Smackdown is better, but it's half of a product, I watch and I keep waiting for...something more, eps end and I'm left thinking 'is that it?'. It's solid, its safe, it's all a bit...bland, if anything it's not raw that's dull it's smackdown, raw is more 'joke' than dull.

This can't all be blamed on 'PG', WWE has been this way for years, difference is they've owned up now

Your saying Smackdown is dull? Seriously? It is by far the best show going at the minute with a stacked roster full of talent and great matches week in week out. You keep waiting for 'something more'? What like 12 run-ins, DQ title changes, young talent getting squashed and the odd dusty finish? Guys like Dolph Ziggler, John Morrison, CM Punk, Jericho, Hardy & Edge(before injury) have made it hugely entertaining wrestling wise, you may not like it because of the fact it is mainly wrestling based and your more into the entertainment side of it which is fair enough but to say its dull is just rediculous.

Each week its the 'WWE booking machine' randomly generating matches....

CM Punk vs Peter Pan
Jeff Hardy vs the 1914 All White Alabama Racketball Team
John Morrison vs - *error* file corrupt - contact administrator

There is absolutely no logic to the booking - nothing is ever on the line in these random matches, Punk vs Jesse in a non title match - who gives a monkees who wins?
You find it boring, fair play, each to his own, but there are plenty of magics with "logic" behind them.

The last 2 Main Events off the top of my head Jericho and Ziggler vs. Hardy and Mysterio w/ Punk at ringside.  Punk continues his Hardy feud, Ziggler his NEW Mysterio one and Jericho still has beef with Mysterio who he lost to in the previous weeks main event...

And so called random matches like....

Morrison vs. Punk
Morrison vs. Edge
Hardy vs. Edge
Ziggler vs. Morrison.

Are so damn good they could well be fighting for a trip to Universal Studios and I won't much care because they are quality matches, but as it happens, the guys are fighting to get ahead in the division, it can be that simple, win and move up the ladder?  It doesn't have to be, you ran over my cat, right thats it, lets fight!  2 guys feud, one in the feud fights another guy, dude he is feuding with scouts the match/interferes etc.  And heck lower down the card Cryme Tyme and Hart Dynasty are FEUDING.

Ah yes, I believe that was the background to the legendary Ric Flair/Harley Race NWA feud of the 1980s....

Anyway, doesn't Smackdown now have like, 2 of the 3 full-time WWE tag teams? I know it's been said before, but I think sticking two guys together and giving them some kind of gimmick/name could work....

Looks like Punk is pretty much a full-blown heel now. I couldn't help but think of War On Drugs by Laughing Colors when he told Jeff to "just say no". :hihi:
