I wonder how many of the kids were wondering who the hell that large, moustachioed man lying in the casket with the urn was. :P

I thought Hawkins and Archer were gonna get some sort of push when they first appeared, now it looks like they could be undertaking future endeavours soon. Why are they having Striker, the heel announcer, criticise them? :weightlifting:

Yeah haha, as cool as it was to see him, this feud is still doing nothing for me.

I'm gutted, really liked the team, I even sense the way Hawkins left him they could be splitting them already.  Maybe Hawkins could reunite with Croft and Trent as the 3rd Dudebuster like he was in FCW.  Incidently The Dudebusters had a few amusing backstage segments with Hornswoggle, by their association with him I guess a push could be on the cards (hopefully), we didn't get those segments here because it was advertising the move to SyFy but you can find them on youtube, if you are a Dudebuster fan like myself!

I've not minded it so far, but it's starting to get stupid now with all this 'Taker gets his powers from the urn' stuff. I know that was his original gimmick, but still..... It's 2010. :undecided:

For a show that was supposed to be about Smackdown debuting on a new channel, there sure was a lot of Raw guys there. Cena, Nexus, Edge, Orton, Cole etc....

I'm also not loving the new theme song. I never really liked Know Your Enemy that much anyway, but it's too upbeat to be the theme song to a wrestling show. Bring back Marilyn Manson dammit! >:D

And while I'm in a mood to criticise everything, I still think that many of Matt Striker's comments sound far too scripted. :steelchair:

Other than that, it was funny to see Michelle deck Hornswoggle with that kick.

How PG was Edge torture wise.  I know I slate other promotions for using knives and other weapons in backstage scenes, but really, covering him in Pizza, throwing a ball at his head, Ooooo!

Great talking by Alberto Del Rio again, really enjoying his character.  It was a solid show, no match really had enough time to be a great match, the best of the bunch was probably MVP vs Drew McIntyre for me, seems MVP is getting a push again, hate his new music though.

Good to see Kaval win, hope the match gets longer this weekend though than 2 minutes.  Striker's celebration was a bit over the top, he's worked 10 years for this win?  Really?

How thin is the Smackdown roster when Masters and Reks make the SS teams.  Reks semblemce of a push vanished on the show.  Billed as the "X Factor", the possible difference maker, the unknown guy earlier in the program, Big Show squashed him and made him look like a soon to be "Future Endeavoured Guy", that was just dumb booking.

Speaking of Masters though, he is a much better wrestler now than he was during his first stint, more guys have (and can) benefit from being released and working elsewhere.  Look how Jamal improved when he came back as Umaga, and heck A-Train as Giant Bernard gets rave reviews all the time.

Had to watch the repeat of SD that they showed in the morning, and they seemed to have edited out any shots of Paul Bearer tied to the wheelchair. The show ended after Edge left the stage.

And I know it had little to do with wrestling, but the ridiculousness of the Hornswoggle/Beth/Eagle segment made me laugh. Especially 'Swoggle getting booted in the face. :D

Watched Smackdown tonight for the first time in a very long time and i really really really liked it.  Dolph has came a long way. if it wasn't for his stupid name, He could really be a major major star.

Whenever you score lots of points you like the WWE show or PPV it happened on.

Probably explains why this is the first time you've liked something in 2....3 years.

(Think about it  ;) )

But, seriously, it was a good show, and Ziggler is awesome now.  Del Rio is a future World Champ and I think Drew might well work as a face.

Smackdown was good this week. I don't think it felt like a PPV. I was expecting a bit more out of the Last Man Standing Match.

The IC Title Match was probably one of the worst matches Ziggler and Kingston have had. I just don't want to see Ziggler and Kingston wrestle each other for a long time.

The Fatal Four Way was a fun little match. Ziggler winning that kind of made sense because McIntyre needs a bit more work, and Rhodes could use a feud over the IC title at least once. Not saying Ziggler is 100% ready for a world title shot or a reign as champ, but its worth a shot right now because he held the IC title for a while, and it would stupid to have him go back after it right now. Plus its the Rumble so.....

The 2 out of 3 falls was pretty good. The ending was clever and if thats the end of the feud then great.

Nature of PG unfortunately

Annoying thing is those 2 are great together, they've just over done it as usual, I know the roster is thin, but still....

Definately, he's stepped up to the next level, nice to see the company showing faith in him.  Just hope it goes somewhere and its not the token "Random Royal Rumble Title Shot" type thing i.e. **** Holly.

I think he should have got the belt they could have done the switch in a Triple Threat or something so it wasn't heel vs heel.  Kingston has had it so much, he should be at the next level now to, seeing Kofi gets it just seems like a step back for him.

Hope so, these two have had a nice feud, would be good to see it end now rather than be overdone.

Thought Smackdown was great, especially the first half. The Last Man Standing Match was one of the better matches Kane has had recently. It's always fun when they do the 1999-style, brawl-all-over-the-arena type match. And I don't know what it was, but I really enjoyed the Fatal 4 Way. Seeing the three heels try (and fail mostly) to eliminate Show, Show constantly preventing Drew getting in the ring, just thought it was a well-done match.

And to top it all off, my main man ADR wins the main event! Only thing was though, didn't the referee find it slightly odd at the end when Mysterio was just 'standing' on the outside of the ring, rather than, you know, climbing in? But that's nitpicking and I won't let that ruin what I thought was a promising start to the year. :D

I know, brilliant. I'm glad Barrett didn't draw the short straw afterall. He was starting to get lost in the mix over there on RAW, hopefully having him dominate Smackdown with the two strongest Nexus members (Gabriel and Slater) will help rebuild his status from Oct/Nov of last year, and with the addition of Ezekiel Jackson to this new incarnation, it looks like creative has finally found the perfect fit for him after aimlessly wandering through squash matches for years.

I look forward to this.

This week's Smackdown was the first of the weekly shows I've seen for about three weeks. :o

That ending confused me. Why wasn't Vickie still considered the referee? 0_o

I watch Smackdown once every...I dunno, 3 months. Never ever changes

Vickie is someone's girlfriend and invariably manager/general manager/acting general manager

Edge is champion or the no.1 contender

Dolph Ziggler is always supposed to be the next big thing and yet never actually getting anywhere

A bit stale I fear

...and I assume that weird western promo is to mark Sting's somewhat delayed WWE arrival?
