I agree wIth D, it used to be the IC and Euro back in the attitude era were used to help get a new star over. Think of all the great world champions and stars who never got it once like hennig, Dibease, Andre (never  a real run) I cant seriously understand how we can  accept a jobber who has never wrn any gold gets a world title before any other title.


Prime example look at CM Punk fomer world champion who is so far down the SD roster and way away from the main event status.  I can not seriously see swagger in a title match much less winning it

I think you have to put in to perspective, I think that the MITB kinda allows this opportunity.

Its not like he beat a top star fairly, he waited and in essense stole it.

You can't tell me that CM Punk is not better off and higher up the card because of the MITB experience. I guess they are hoping that Swagger might catch some of that too.

I understand the premise of the IC Title & US Title to get people over first propelling them to World titles later and usually i'd agree but i think the Royal Rumble and MITB are unique opportunities to do anything.... with pretty much anyone.

Plus with the Tag Titles becoming above midcard its leaving alot of midcarde talent with not alot of a chance of a title or major TV time.

I'm not a massive fan of people going from nothing to champion, i like to see them win Tag Titles, then their first singles title, then start fighting Main Eventers, Then have their top tier breakthrough feud and then go for World titles, But MITB does offer up this option and if WWE believe that Swagger has a bright future then why not give him a massive push by giving the title. It basically saves 4 or 5 months of work.

Having said that Swagger will not have the title long.... Edge or Jericho will have it back in no time!

Unless I've forgotten a rule change, a Gauntlet match, singular, is scored as one match with +5 for each elimination and +4 for it being a gimmick match.  And before we argue this like we have before, this is how they have ALWAYS been scored, I know we've discussed changing it but to my knowledge we never have.
