Hogan & Bischoff: 'State of TNA' Address
« on: January 29, 2010, 06:36:54 pm »
Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff appeared on Howard 101 on Friday with Bubba The Love Sponge to give "The State of TNA" address.

Thanks to Phil Lions for the following highlights...

Hogan: "Abyss is awesome and he's my next John Cena."

Hogan said TNA's big selling point for the Montreal Angle is that they have Earl Hebner and WWE doesn't.

They put over Pope big time too (especially Bischoff).

Hogan said he's pushing for Impact on Mondays everyday but also denied it's happening soon. He said March 1st would indeed be a good starting point though.

Bischoff claims he doesn't know anything about TNA moving to Monday nights, nor the March 1st show.

Hogan would love to have Randy Savage in TNA to manage Black Machismo.

Bischoff: "Lacey is scary hot."

Bischoff and Hogan are high on Desmond Wolfe.

On naming talent they could bring from WWE, Hogan says he'd want Cena, Orton and Big Show cause he's never been used right, Bischoff disagrees.

Bischoff on Big Show - "I don't think he's ever been committed. I have a problem with Show. He's always been lazy."

Caller: If you HAD TO fight one guy in TNA who would it be? Hogan: Depends on how full of himself AJ Styles gets.

Hogan said that "inside sources" claim the original plan was for Bret Hart to face Shawn Michaels at Wrestlemania.

Eric Bischoff is spot on with Show, far too lazy, and thats not "dirtsheet" talk, the guy has boasted about not having to workout in the gym and just eating, eating and eating.

Abyss is their fav?

Now in my TNA Abyss would be one of the first on the card - but with a new heel gimmick, guys dead out there

oh all the TNA guys I bet Abyss is the one WWE want most - he'd be a devestating loss to TNA. Ultimately he's a good version of Kane

To be honest I thought they'd be more interested in guys like Robert Roode.

Hernandez is the biggest future star in the business IMO. The stuff he can do is just not human.

I don't see him as being as well rounded as others guys like Roode, for starters his promos are medicore at best.

true, but i think he can get a way with saying less and just doing more in the ring... His in ring ability is incredible though. Hernandez is tailor made for a manager though.. i will agree.

HULK HOGAN and Eric Bischoff have picked Brit Desmond Wolfe, AJ Styles and Abyss as three of the guys they most want to push in TNA.

The pair went live on the air on the Bubba the Love Sponge radio show to make what they called the 'State of TNA' Address.

Combining a question and answer session with Bubba and phone-in questions from fans, the duo discussed many of the things the wrestling world wants to know about TNA and its future.

Abyss and heavyweight champion Styles won heavy praise, with Bischoff also saying of Desmond: "I'm very high on him, he has a great look." Hulk added that Wolfe, who used to wrestle as Nigel McGuiness, was 'real close' to being a major superstar.

One man who won't be joining the three at the top of the TNA card is Honky Tonk Man.

Despite the former WWE intercontinental champion claiming he'd signed with the company, Eric said: "I would rather drive an ice pick through my thigh than work with HTM."

Hogan's old sparring partner in the WWE and WCW Randy 'Macho Man' Savage was mentioned in passing also. The Hulkster joked that he'd love to see him come in and manage his "illegitimate son", referring to Jay Lethal.

The pair also talked about which WWE stars they'd like to poach, agreeing on John Cena and Randy Orton. Hogan said he'd love to get Big Show too, but 'Easy E' claimed Show was too lazy.

Another WWE superstar Bischoff doesn't like is Chris Jericho, saying that Y2J "could never headline and Vince seemed to think the same today in the WWE".

Jericho hit back on Twitter, saying: "Bischoff's right I can't headline TNA... 'cos I'm not in my 50s."

Glad Abyss will get a shot - but at what?

God dammit - enough with the retard gimmick!

What is it about him they like? His ability to get hit by a chair?

He really has no limits, the dude is either damn brave, damn crazy, or both.

Thing is, chances are, they are going to push him, with the same **** gimmick he has now.

Like I said though, 2 out of 3 ain't bad Styles and Wolfe are great!

LOL, what a legend.

Is Bischoff saying Vince doesn't see Jericho as a headliner? 'Cos Jericho gets plenty of TV time, high-profile feuds etc....

Talent wise he is IMO, without a doubt, and he's been pushed as such.

I think the point is, he has never been a proven draw when he's been in that position.
