Future WWE Game Discussion & Ideas Thread
« on: February 05, 2010, 10:59:49 am »
Initial Idea.  If you have any friends, at other boards who you think would be interested, invite them over, that way we can work to expanding to 3 leagues at some point.

Another thought.  We said the Champion stays in their respective brand to defend, their title, but since we start drafting before the end of the game, how would we go about doing that?

How about a thread for trades between players? Someone can offer a guy and then ask for what they want (cash/wrestlers/both)

Trading would never work as there are some people here who would trade away their team just to keep someone else from winning......

As Far as the Drafting Goes, We start the draft 4 weeks or so before the current game ends. So take the top 3 in each league at that point and let them stay in their league. That would "most likely" keep the world champion in their current league, then if you are not in the top 3 at that point you go into the draft pool and could stay on your current brand or you could be sent packing. We really can't wait for 1 game to end to start drafting or we will loose a month on each game. If you want to be a champion in a league and repeat come out of the gate strong and lead the game the whole way through.

to add to Cowbell

how about the top 2 or 3 stay in their league to defend the titles?

That way u can build some rivalries

so if I edge out Nightrain for the world title, he is guaranteed a revenge rematch in the next game

I can just see losing to Hammy by 1 pt and then not getting another shot at him for a year or so.......

It doesn't have to "count" as an official title or maybe it can, but i think we should have an overall leaderboard and champ

so u can win your individual game title and the Overall title as well.

Then we can have a ranking system of the top 10 players in the games.

also if this new NXT or whatever its called show is like a developmental type program.. i think we should reevaluate how its scored. cause i think a show like that shouldn't be scored the same as Raw or SD

also think Superstars should be scored like Sunday night Heat.

Some superb ideas, and I think I agree with all of them.  The good thing is, we will have a good few weeks of the nXt show, to evaluate its value, so to speak.  Superstars has dwindled to and deserves demoting score wise, the first show had Undertaker ffs!

Also like the idea of an overall leaderboard, heck we could start one, now for this game if nobody objected.  Thinking about it, it is a way of giving certain belts more prestige.  People can argue, well I was in a different league to such a name (and fair point it may be), its no different to arguing, well I didn't win because I got a crap place in the drafting order.

Yeah for the 3 hour Raws we give more points out then a 2 hour Raw, so a 1 hour crap show should be less then a 2 hour raw.

(Most) PPV, (2nd Most) 3 Hour SD/Raw, (3rd Most / Regular) 2 Hour Show, (least Amount) 1 hour show.

Thats the way I kinda feel about it. The quality on Superstars is a joke, I am kinda surprized WGN doesnt Vince put on atleast 2 "huge" stars facing off each week, or have the tag title defended weekly to make the show have something to offer, basically its Raw/SD dark matches we wouldnt normally see on TV, am I right?

No that wouldn't work. People would always trade their players to stop other people winning. You could end up with Jericho, Cena, Morrison, Sheamus & Miz.... no one would stand a chance.

I'm all for smart changes but lets not make too many in one go. This game is fun because at its core its simple.

The one thing i would say is that i like the fact that Superstars and ECW is scored the same as it makes those 4th and 5th picks more valuble. Like Sheamus in the last game. I waited to get him 4th coz i thought he was definatly gonna be ECW champ by the end of the game.... little did i know what was was really gonna happen. If they had been scored different then people won't pick ECW wrestlers.

They already get less points in the main.... i don't see a reason to lower them more. It wasn't that long ago that Jericho was on Superstars.

Yeah thats a good pt plus since few ECW wrestlers get on PPV, they getting the same pts as Raw and SD gives them some value.

I am not the lord and master of this game, but it will be over my dead body before we ever do the trade thing

I seriously would retire from the game if that ever came legal cause it would be a **** storm.

I've copied and pasted this from the thread it was in (and deleted said thread) since its relevant to future discussions and the like:

Quote
I use the term "Prizes", loosely.  8)

But as we said, the winner of each league, WWE Champion (RAW) and World Heavyweight Champion (Nitro) will remain on their respective brands to defend their titles, but not only that, each Champion will have the power, to choose the "Gimmick/Theme" of the next game, from the following (also both games can't have the same theme, the first choice will go to the Champion with the higher points total):

  • TNA Invasion
- As in previous games everyone would be entitled to pick one TNA star at the start of the game but with the catch that they cannot drop this person from their roster at any point, also TNA players would not be able to be picked up during the game unless one skipped from the WWE roster to the TNA roster mid-game then you could use the loophole, but with the "90 Day No Compete Clause" its unlikely.
  • King of the Ring
- With a King of the Ring theme (A brand new one we were meant to use before we moved boards incidently) the KOTR won run alongside the regular game, brackets would be drawn and therefore everyone would have an opponent (like a normal KOTR), after a period of a few weeks the person with the highest score would advance to the next round, scores would then be reset, and against the next opponent scores measured from that period to the next elimination period (if that makes sense, I know it sounds a bit Greek like), and so on.
  • Stable Warfare
- With 9 players in each league you would have 3 "Triad Stables" and the combined scores would make up the stable scores, the Captain would be the highest scoring member from the previous game.
  • Regular Game
- We know how a regular game works now don't we?
  • Tag Game
- You'd have the power to bring the game back and it'd be both brands doing it and your singles game would by default be a regular game.

Now this can tie in with the idea Cowbell and D had, about the "Top 3" staying on the brand, based on who the Top 3 are when the drafting starts.

The new game begins March 29th so drafting will start March 15th.  So the theory is this.  The Top 3 at that point stay on their brand, guaranteed, and the person at that point currently holding 1st, gets to choose the concept, it could be billed as a "Race to Glory", you might not win the game, but you get the power to choose the concept, its the only viable way I can think of this working.

How about 4 for a match and 6 to make 10 for a win?

Top 3 are gaureenteed to stay. I dont like the idea of everyone else switching leagues, I would like some to stay and some to go based on a draft of some sort, so if you are not in the top 3 you dont know if you are staying or going.

WHoever is in 1st place ( at the end of the week prior to drafting) I am fine with giving them permission to pick the game. As long as it was after a completed week as I dont want someone with a Raw roster getting to choose because the draft starts on wednesday and they are leading.

Either Person in 1st at the draft day picks the theme / or / Last two champions pick the themes, (Since D and GnR won and took 2nd for this game i am also fine with that if the group agrees,

Now I know you loose points by loosing by DQ (its a cheap loss) how come you don't loose points by a countout loss then? I mean afteral Unless a wrestlers taps or gets pins they are being cheap and saving face.

Not all countouts are intentional (ie. Ziggler over Kane a few weeks ago). Then again, neither are all DQs I guess....
