What Do You Consider The End Of ECW Poll?
« on: February 08, 2010, 08:20:12 pm »
Interesting poll at PWTorch.com.  I'd be interested in reading your thoughts on this over the next few days.  Being relatively new to Wrestling (a couple of years a fan) I'm not in a position to vote.

IMO as long as Paul Heyman was writing/in charge of ECW it was ECW.

As soon as he had no say it was over.

RVD beating Cena was the last "Great" ECW moment
This is how it works, You're young until you're not
You love until you don't, You try until you can't
You laugh until you cry, You cry until you laugh
And everyone must breathe, Until their dying breath

I thought ECW ended when they took the title off Taz after 13 months and put it on mike awesome, because taz was heading to wwf. It seemed to be the begining of the end, it all way downhill from there.

Chris Jericho wrote the following about ECW on his Twitter earlier: “Goodbye WWECW. But as those of us who were there know, ECW really died in 99.”

ECW ended when RVD lost the ECW heavyweight title after the drug arrest.  While the newer version wasn't exactly like classic ECW, there were at least some attempts to intergrate the old style into the newer WWE.  They signed several ECW originals and pushed them.

What some people forget is the original wasn't all "****" a lot of it was just quality matches put on by your Benoit's, Jericho's, Guerrero's and Malenko's.  There were times when they have some show stealing matches, the PPV bout between Matt Hardy and Evan Bourne comes to mind.
