Source: F4W Newsletter

- Vince McMahon is said to be very excited about the new NXT show. Part of the new concept involves a shooting style of actions and if it turns into a hit, they are hoping to integrate into RAW and SmackDown. It’s also said that Vince wants the Divas to be heavily involved in the new show.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The speculation is over. After all the questions about how WWE NXT, which replaces ECW starting next week, would operate, the answer is finally clear–and, just for the record, it is not going to be a science fiction show.

In the same vein as shows like “The Ultimate Fighter” and WWE’s own “Tough Enough,” a Daily Variety article confirms that the series will employ a reality premise, following eight rookie Superstars from FCW as they work their way towards a spot on RAW or SmackDown.

The eight new wrestlers will each be paired with a WWE veteran mentor, “with egos often getting in the way, as they learn the ropes of competing in the ring in front of live audiences, creating characters and speaking on camera,” says the Variety story.

WWE is teasing the series as a window into how the company truly operates.

“These kids crash and burn a lot,” said Vince McMahon. “By putting them into this environment we’ll find out if they can make it. There’s no better way to develop skills than being in front of an audience. And that makes for good television.”

The show, set to air weekly year-round, will be broken into two or three seasons. As per earlier reports, it will also feature a new “look and feel” for WWE programming.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As reported earlier, the new WWE NXT show will feature wrestlers from Florida Championship Wrestling, who will be paired off with WWE veterans in their quest to make it to the main roster.

Here’s a look at the nine wrestlers who are expected to be part of WWE NXT: Season 1, which debuts next Tuesday night on Syfy:

- Justin Angel (FCW Champion)
- Daniel Bryan (formerly Bryan Danielson)
- Kaval (formerly Low Ki)
- Skip Sheffield
- Joe Hennig (son of Mr. Perfect Curt Hennig)
- Brett Dibiase (son of the Million Dollar man, brother of Ted Jr.)
- Darren Young
- Heath Slater
- Michael Tarver

Or maybe those 3 are debuting the traditional way, I mean surely not EVERYONE has to go through this show to get to the main rosters now, do they?

Anyone else thinking that Miz mentoring Danielson has future feud written all over it?

Miz teaching Danielson is like Robbie Williams teaching Axl Rose how to be a front man.

I love the Miz... he's probally the best thing going on the mic at the mo but in Ring Danielson is special. I can just see this being a build up to a Miz vs Danielson match
This is how it works, You're young until you're not
You love until you don't, You try until you can't
You laugh until you cry, You cry until you laugh
And everyone must breathe, Until their dying breath

I wonder if any element of this will be "real" the way there are reports of a shoot style element.

WWE star Miz has described his NXT protégée Daniel Bryan as "ordinary and bland".

Better known by his real name Bryan Danielson, the WWE newcomer is a renowned wrestler and former Ring Of Honor champion who has won accolades around the world.

Readers of The Wrestling Observer newsletter have voted him Most Outstanding Wrestler for the last four years and Best Technical Wrestler for the last five.

Former reality star Miz will tutor Bryan on NXT and is fed up with fans and even his fellow wrestlers saying he's not qualified.

His ex-tag team partner John Morrison, another mentor on the new WWE reality style show, said: "Bryan knows more than Miz does and that's pretty much what everyone thinks."

Playing up the controversy on his WWE blog, an in-character Miz blasted: "It's come to my knowledge that some members of the WWE Universe think they know everything about WWE and what it takes to be a WWE Superstar.

"They think that if a guy does well in the independent minor leagues, then all of a sudden he should be in the WWE.

"They think that if a guy can main event in front of a hundred people at a bingo hall, then he's ready to main event at WrestleMania.

"Just because fans on the Internet say you're ready doesn't mean you really are.

"Just because a fat guy with no teeth who sits in the front row, buys your T-shirt and says you're the king of wrestling, doesn't mean you really are."

He added: "My job is to make Daniel Bryan a star in the WWE, because let's face it, if you look at a picture of him right now, do you think STAR?

"No, Daniel Bryan looks like my accountant... ordinary and bland.

"Maybe if he had The Miz's charisma and look, he would have been in the WWE by now.

"Don't hate on me because it didn't take me a decade to get a WWE contract and go down in WWE history to be the first superstar to win the United States title and unified tag team titles.

"Don't get me wrong, Daniel Bryan has all the talent in the world, but every wrestler has weaknesses. And that's what my job is, to find his weakness and make him the biggest star possible.

"I just hope Daniel Bryan doesn't believe himself what these ignorant members of the WWE Universe believe about him, or WWE NXT is going to be a nightmare for him."

This just has so much potential.

The Quality Wrestler who needs help with the Entertainment side vs The Entertainment Protege who is a average in ring worker.

They could take it so many ways.

NXT is actually a fun show. Bryan Danielson was great this week. I like the fact that they acknowledge he is an "Internet darling"

I bet HBK is really proud of Danielson. Michaels trained him in between 98 and his 02 comeback. I think HBK could have gotten him into WWE a long time ago but Bryan wanted to wrestle in ROH and gain experience all over the world.

I know he will not have 60 minute ,5 star matches like he did in ROH but there was nothing left for him to do on the Indys.

I was also impressed with David Otunga's personality/character.

I really enjoyed it to, I wasn't sure what format it was going to take but I thought it came off well, especially with those profiles before matches to give an instant insight into the characters, I mean they should do that more with guys on the main brands.  Heck we already know more about some of these new guys than we do the likes of Barretta, Croft, Primo etc.

Otunga is set up perfectly as the cocky heel, I mean his real life exploits are a gift for the writers, over the years they've spent time creating a character like him, with Otunga it's ready made stuff that just needs tweaking in the right direction.  Famous gf/wife, seen at all the A-List parties, met the President etc. and so on, it's like when MNM use to talk trash about how they hung out with all these big names, difference with Otunga is its legit and people buy into that stuff.  His match was very quick though, doesn't bode well for Darren Young, unless he's going to adopt Straight Edge and suddenly start winning.

Heath Slater was good to, if not a little goofy.  Daniel Bryan is definately getting the initial focus as the star attraction, Jericho, Miz and Cole all focusing on him, I look forward to his feud with The Miz.

Wade Barrett was great on the mic to, someone more cocky and arrogant than even Jericho.

Ha,I noticed that Hammy calls Bryan Danielson Daniel Bryan but no matter what WWE says, he will always be American Dragon Bryan Danielson to me. I think this show will actually be geared somewhat towards "Internet Smart Marks"  I have been a huge fan for at least five years now since I really got into ROH and this guy deserves a huge push. I hope when people google Danielson that this leads them to get into ROH.

Well of course I call him that, it's his name, just like I called Braden Walker, Braden Walker when he was around rather than that other name people had for him  :P
