Nine Inch Nails

A band that I've been a semi-fan of for years, it wasn't until the past 12 months that I think I properly "Got them".  Now I'd consider myself a major fan.  I think The Fragile is damn close to being a masterpiece, so many of my favourite songs are on those 2 discs, Into The Void, Starfuckers Inc., The Day The World Went Away, Please, La Mer heck I could probably go on and list ALL the tracks.

Delving it their back catalogue I suggest people download the album Purest Feeling the unreleased demo version of Pretty Hate Machine, I much prefer it, its a lot more "Pop" than the Pretty Hate Machine record but tracks on it like Maybe Just Once and Purest Feeling have a really cool groove to them.

I think the only album I don't really like is Things Falling Apart most of the remixes just came off as pointless.

NIN are odd for me, because I like a lot of their songs but haven't been able to get into a whole album. I have Pretty Hate Machine, Broken, The Downward Spiral, The Fragile and Year Zero (also downloaded The Slip and the first part of Ghosts) and TBH, Broken (which happenes to be the shortest) is probably my favourite overall, though TDS has a lot of good songs. Still, I want to get With Teeth and some of the remix albums.

Top 10 NIN songs for me would probably be

Physical (You're So)
March Of The Pigs
Big Man With A Gun
A Warm Place
Hurt
We're In This Together
Starfuckers, Inc.
God Given
Zero-Sum
Discipline

with various honourable mentions :P

I guess I'm kind of a "semi-fan" just now.

Is it possible to be a fan of something but still find it to be a bit overrated?

People jack off over "The Fragile" I bought it and thought it was ok.......... I have grown up listening to a lot of complex/beautiful music so I guess maybe I don't see the big deal in the album...

I love Year Zero however. that album is incredible.
