can i bring up the vince is seen as kinda a bigot? so maybe he missed his chance by being born black
Not really, they do try to push him, just like they give endless pushes to Mark Henry year after year and Lashley was seen as a big star on a John Cena level before he quit, heck he was referred to as the "Black Brock Lesnar", heck he still is now, just in MMA discussions rather than wrestling ones.

i'm just saying there is a big group of people that think he is a racist, also i dont think lasley was ever seen of as big as cena, and if you dont have the world or wwe title it's nto the same, cause the "ecw" is above the us and ic, but below the other 2.  Either way i dont think they really do try to push him, i mean he's been in every MITB right? but never able to get it. and when ever he's champ, he still always leads off the show with his matches

True the ECW Title is pretty minor, it means you are essentially World Champion of the development brand, they were building him up though and the "dirtsheets" all pointed to him being a major star, the racist in the company, that would be Michael Hayes.

From whats been said over the years Hayes has made a habit out of doing it, I'm sure he was meant of offended Lashley in much the same way.

As has been suggested Benjamin could do with a stable but since WWE aren't stable friendly then its more a case of whether WWE will have another go at seeing how he does in a semi-decent place on the card.  Giving him the ECW Title as is often the case is the test to see how well he does with the "Developmental World Title" and if he has a good run, then its back onto one of the bigger shows.  Or they may of just put him on the brand to serve in a Finlay role and help put over and bring on new talent.

From JR's most recent Blog:

It looks like Shelton Benjamin is working his way back to being a fan favorite. I could be wrong but that's what it seems to me. I still think Benjamin can be special with the right presentation because athletes like him don't come along too often. Plus, Shelton is one of the most engaging and entertaining guys on any roster in the locker room. If that talent can be transferred to in front of the camera, and I think it can, the WWE can mine some valuable minerals from the Gold Standard.

Is his current run any better?  As good as his in-ring work is I thought they were trying to kill him having him singing (and I use the term loosely), it was so bad I wasn't sure whether he was meant to be the face or heel.

I am going to go on record and say this I am huge Shelton Benjamin fan! I have always said that Shelton has the skills to be a World Champion in the WWE. No I don't think his time has come and gone I think it is just a matter of finding the right gimmick for him. Shelton needs something to push him over the top because he has the skills to match up with anyone on the WWE roster the problem is he CAN wrestle while most of the wrestlers on the WWE roster are all about being flashy and sport entertainment.

Shelton Benjamin should go to TNA when his contract is up because he will get the push he deserve because his skills will be honor in TNA.

You can not put Mark Henry and Shelton Benjamin in the same room because there is a huge and I do mean huge difference between those two, one has skill and the other looks like a Silver Back Gorilla and I will let you figure out which one is which on that one.

In short Shelton Benjamin time has not come and I believe sooner or later Shelton will be back on the booker's good side and we shall see Shelton raising the WWE World Title soon!

he could do with a manager, unfortunately it is considered to be a dated concept, which baffles me, managers can be so useful.
Managers serve no purpose in this era. When a star is onscreen 20 minutes and 15-18 of those minutes are spent talking during a skit, what is a manager's role supposed to be?

A manager is for the wrestler who cannot talk.

Benjamin is an awful guy at cutting promo's, too many wrestlers who can't cut promos are allowed to these days.

He'd of benefited from a Slick like manager, heck he looks like Butch Reed 2.0 with his stupid blonde hair.

Sorry for that but are you serious Slick? Come on! If you are going to give Shelton a manager it has to be a diva because in this day an age only good manager is a female manager!

^ That would be the poor WWE misconception that male managers are outdated, thats why talented guys like James Mitchell are out of work...

Watching ECW this week Shelton looked really good again, he really is a personality transplant away from being a Main Eventer because in the ring he is great.

A manager is for the wrestler who cannot talk.
That's not always the case though. Sure, a team like MX goes NOWHERE without Cornette, there are cases like with JJ Dillon where he managed a stable consisting of 4 experts on the mic.

Managers provide several dimensions to wrestling, none of which are needed in this current era. Scott's request of manager divas is proof of this. A woman shaking her ass isn't a manager.

One being they can get a guy over who is a good wrestler but a poor talker.

In recent years there have been examples of guys doing great manager jobs in wrestling, as previously mentioned James Mitchell's role in TNA, and not that many years since, Paul Heyman for Brock Lesnar and Armando Estrada for Umaga, when big monsters speak it often kills them because their voice can never match their look (Bobby Lashley says hello  )
