RAW is Smackdown?
« on: April 18, 2010, 06:19:27 pm »
Due to the volcano erupting overseas this week, the WWE crews have experienced some major travel problems as they have been wrapping up the European tour.

Monday night’s RAW is in jeopardy of happening as planned. WWE has informed the arena in East Rutherford, New Jersey that RAW is still planned to take place as scheduled. The SmackDown crew was able to get flights out of Spain and will be in the United States in time for RAW. It’s possible the SmackDown crew will have to be in the building for RAW on Monday night.

The RAW crew is still in the UK and if they can’t make it back to the US in time for RAW on Monday night, it’s possible that they will film interviews with certain stars and air them on TV while the SmackDown crew wrestles on TV. There is a flight ban in the UK that has been extended until 7pm local time on Sunday, making it even harder for the RAW crew to get back in time for the show on Monday night.

The National Air Traffic Service in the U.K. has extended a flight ban to Monday morning at 7:00 a.m., which will keep WWE's Raw brand wrestlers stranded in the U.K. until Monday at the earliest.

The extended no-fly period heightens the possibility the Raw brand wrestlers will not be able to make it to the live Raw TV taping on Monday night in East Rutherford, N.J.

Sky reports that government officials extended the ban from 1:00 to 7:00 a.m. due to ash from the volcano explosion in Iceland continuing to cover the U.K., making it unsafe for flight travel. The NATS said: "Conditions around the movement of the layers of the volcanic ash cloud over the U.K. remain dynamic."

Could make for an unpredictable RAW, although am I right in saying Triple H missed the tour?

Yeah, think you're right about that Hammy.  Sure I read he wasn't on it, plus I've seen lots of the house show results and there is no mention of him.

With the volcanic eruption in Europe stranding the majority of the Raw roster, WWE’s flagship show is going blue. Even as the cast of the film MacGruber takes the reins as special guest hosts for the potentially cataclysmic show in East Rutherford, N.J., Triple H prepares to share the ring with several top SmackDown Superstars.

Although Raw is trapped in Belfast, Ireland, the SmackDown Superstars were able to arrive in Newark by charter early this morning, after traveling through the night by bus to get to a place where they could take off.

Can the cast of MacGruber control the molten-hot situation that could erupt on Raw? Find out tonight at 9/ 8 CT only on USA Network.

Wonder how the legal guys are sorting this out - bet there is no official mention to smackdown cos that would be a breach of contract - USA Network haven't got the rights

Should make for a more interesting Raw...

LOL that Triple H is mysteriously the only Raw guy that can make it to the show... :hihi:

Hopefully some more RAW guys like Orton, Batista, Bourne, Dibiase and Kingston are able to make it back for Smackdown, and then they can appear on there just so we don't have to wait till Sunday to see some of them.

Let's just hope they make it back for the PPV!  I'm pretty sure they should now with flights resuming normal service somewhat, heck if they don't make it it'd be interesting to see what creative come up with for the show...
