The conspiracy will lead to John Cena and his long overdue heel turn, which will also concide with his match with The Rock at Wrestlemania. You read it here first!

Imagine him walking out like this to cut a Hogan/Bash at the Beach style promo.

Wishful thinking? Perhaps. But if there were ever a time to do it, The Time is Now (pun intended) besides, they would be able to recoup some of the losses in the inevitable decline of merchandise sales by utilising The Rock as the sole established babyface.

WWWYKI  :P

I'm beginning to think that WWE are already failing to capitalise on the momentum of CM Punk. He done that brilliant shoot promo before Money In The Bank, which turned alot of heads and got people wondering what was gonna happen next. Since then, technically, nothing of much significance has really occured. Maybe they don't know themselves what they should do as most of the talent and writers from the famous "Attitude era" have now moved on, and the "entertainment" writers thats left don't know how to emulate it.

Despite all of this I still believe CM Punk is the best character in professional wrestling today. As for his storyline/feud with Cena, am I the only one who's drawing comparisons from Cena's feud with Edge in 2006 when Edge won his first WWE Championship which led into the "Rated R Superstar era." My point is, is it a definitve turning point in CM Punk's career right now? Absolutely. The Punk era? Maybe. As for groundbreaking television and the best thing in years? Probably. But will it ever be held in the same regard as anything from the "Attitude era" ? Don't think so. Simply because the "Attitude era" was a collective effort and despite how cool it sounds on TV in a promo, or certainly from a long-term creative standpoint, one man cannot "make wrestling fun again."

Just my two cents.

Anyway, I've just ordered:

Jeff Buckley - Grace
You're in for a treat my friend. Let me know what you think. Jeff Buckley is simply perfection. That is all.

As for Hammy regarding the Aerosmith CD's, I meant what did you think of them, not where did you find them. Sorry, my bad on the grammar I guess.  :P

Rock N' Roll Express / Upcoming Gigs You're Attending

Anyone got any upcoming gigs they'd like to discuss?

Just saw Beady Eye (Oasis minus Noel Gallagher for those unaware) on Sunday night, was pleasantly suprised, all the songs off their new album sounded better live. Shaping up to be a cool live act.

As for upcoming gigs, I'll be attending:

Eric Clapton, (May 10th, Odyssey, Belfast)
The Black Crowes (July 12th & 13th, Shepherds Bush, London)

Aerosmith studio albums or one of their 200 compilations? :P
Nine Lives, Pump (Both were like 2.99 on play.com I luuuurrrve that site) and Young Lust Anthology.
How'd you find these? I know people aren't keen on Nine Lives, but I've always liked it, "Ain't That A ****" is my fav, as for "Pump" that album is a classic! Regarded by many as their last great album.  :-X

Wrestling / Re: WWE Smackdown Thread

I'm starting to really enjoy Smackdown recently, much more than RAW. Was another tear-jerking speech from Edge, who will obviously be missed, but I'm keen to see what they do with Christian now. If they're ever going to give him the ball, it has to be now. Smackdown is in need of a full time star babyface now that with the void that Edge has left, Christian is the one to do it. Wouldn't it be great to see him finally win the big one, and how fitting would it be that he succeed his real life best friend as the World Heavyweight Champion.

Personally, I can see it happening. Regardless of the fact that Christian most certainly deserves a run, I predict Alberto Del Rio being drafted to RAW in the draft anyways, where a Del Rio/Cena feud is imminent.

Wasn't the best RAW. Hasn't been the same for me since Shawn Michaels left. As stupid as the Cole/Lawler/J.R./Swagger angle is, I must admit I can't wait to see J.R. get his hands on Michael Cole at Extreme Rules. I predict a stiff shot or two.  :hihi: Besides if this angle gives us nothing, but results in bringing J.R. back to the announce table in at least a semi-permanent basis (although honestly, it's unlikely) it will all be worth it.

I agree with Hammy that none of the contestants are likeable whatsoever. To be honest I can't see any of the bunch ever making it past Yoshi Tatsu status. However Stone Cold is a great host, and I love the elimination process. It's kind of like a wrestling version of Gordon Ramsay's Hell's Kitchen. Episode 3 was definitely the best so far, was amazing to see Austin actually get back in the ring too. He hasn't missed a beat.

Best part of the series for me so far was during the second elimination Stone Cold asked the contestants up for elimination "What do you see when you look in the mirror?" The contestants answered with things along the lines of "A dedicated, passionate individual." Then Austin replies "When I asked you what do you see when you look at yourself in the mirror, not one of you said...a WWE Superstar." Brilliant!

^ That's a damn impressive collection there mate.

Although I have to ask....Great American Bash 2007?  Really??
Ha! When I read that last line I automatically thought of this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6vxiQ9JCKvE

I know, its the only PPV I have post 2006 that I have, only explanation I can give was I remember liking the PPV for some odd reason even though in hindsight, theres nothing really worthy of watching again, but it was during a DVD buying spree that I ended up buying it. It's still sealed and has been for over two years.  :hihi:

Cheers dude, although thanks  must go to yourself as the majority of those Silvervision/Tagged Classics would not have been discovered until you mentioned Silvervision years ago to me...even though it's been advertised on Powerslam Magazine for years.  :P

Yeah, I saw the trailer for the story of Wrestlemania, it looks pretty good. I'm only realising now when you say, but I have the Jericho set too, knew I forgot one! The documentary on it alone is superb as are the matches.

Wrestling / Re: WWE Wrestlemania 27 - April 3rd 2011
« on: February 10, 2011, 01:52:13 pm »
I can see Wrestlemania being something like this as it stands:

World Heavyweight Championship
Alberto Del Rio vs Edge

WWE Championship
The Miz vs John Cena

Undertaker vs Triple H (feat Special Referee Shawn Michaels)

Money in the Bank Ladder Match
John Morrison vs R-Truth vs Sheamus vs Kofi Kingston vs Drew McIntyre vs Wade Barrett vs Kane vs Christian

Rey Mysterio & Big Show vs Cody Rhodes & Kevin Nash

OR

Randy Orton, Rey Mysterio Big Show & Kevin Nash vs CM Punk, Michael McGulitcuty, David Otunga and Mason Ryan

World Tag Team Championship
Justin Gabriel & Heath Slater vs Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov

No DQ
Jerry Lawler vs Alex Riley (w/ Michael Cole)

Add in maybe a Steve Austin and/or J.R. appearance in the Lawler match and throw in a Divas match of some sort and we're done.  ;)
