Oasis
« on: July 18, 2009, 11:54:43 pm »
Before I got into them, I knew songs like Wonderwall and Don't Look Back In Anger (like 99% of British people :P) but that was about it. Got given the Stop The Clocks one Christmas and went on to buy Definitely Maybe, (What's The Story) Morning Glory? (the two classics) and Heathen Chemistry (which also has some good stuff on it). Going to buy their other albums hopefully soon but their first two are definitely two of my favourite albums. 8)

Any other fans? (Don't quite know what their status is/was in the US....)

I've liked the "hits" not tried much beyond that.

I saw them live a few years ago when I worked as security at a gig of theirs at Man City's Ground, it was pretty cool, I had a good view and even got to see the mic check before everyone got let in  :D

Just bought ALL their albums off PlayTrade for under ?20 in total, including the live and b-sides one, suddenly became a big fan in recent weeks, been listening to the first 3 albums illegally, so I decided to buy them all legally, I know people say the quality drops off, but the price for, 7...or 8 or however many it is I've ordered is well worth it, I love this lack of interest in CDs, makes buying them so much easier these days, I actually went through the old "HTGTH" thread on them, I notice you are/were a big fan Izzy.  I also know a recurring theme is much of their best stuff is in their B-Sides, many of which weren't on the B-Sides album release, of that have been B-Sides since it came out.

I like Oasis however, I stop listening to after the album they release after What's the story morning glory. They have pretty much faded out of the America music for a long time but I still rock to them when I can get too.

I still haven't got around to buying The Masterplan yet, but I have one song, Listen Up, from it, which is brilliant and has one of Liam's best vocal performances IMO.

I've downloaded a few other B-sides from iTunes though, I Will Believe and Cloudburst are two I definitely recommend. 8)

Also, I think most of the albums they did after the first two are very good, maybe not classics like Def Maybe and Morning Glory, but Be Here Now and SOTSOG have lots of great songs on them, there's just some 'filler' unlike the first two. Looking at you Magic Pie.... :-X

I quite like that.  The first 3 albums have been played loads recently.  Anyway all the stuff has finally arrived, it's 9 albums in total.  Just ripped 'em all to my computer, so its a question of where to start haha, I'll ease away from the first 3 as much as I enjoy them since I've played them so much.  Fave track at the moment though is definately She's Electric.
