Finlay Released

Frpm PWTorch -

Can understand with regards to the National Guard, but is this a bit harsh?  Especially due to Miz's heel character!

Backstage producer/part-time wrestler Finlay was released from WWE this week, according to PWInsider.com.

Finlay was reportedly released due to an incident at Friday's house show in Champaign, Ill. He was the producer of the opening segment where The Miz interrupted the National Anthem to set up the opening match vs. Randy Orton.

The National Guard had a presence at the house show and reportedly expressed their dissatisfaction to WWE management with Miz interrupting the Anthem.

WWE is very protective of their business partnerships, including Mattel, Kmart, NBC Universal, and the National Guard, which prompted WWE to make a decision to cut Finlay over the incident.

It's also worth noting WWE focused on National Guard representatives positioned ringside during Monday's Raw TV taping from Chicago, which could be viewed as an additional "make-up" after Friday's house show incident.

I'm sure he was a great trainer considering what a great in-ring talent he was, I'm sure if it was simply this incident then when things blow over he'll be back.
