Hmm.. I appreciate the sentiment D, but it is my own fault.

Though, it did get me thinking. I know that we've managed this long without it, but maybe we should write into the rules (for future games) that if somebody that you have picked becomes inactive before the game starts (ie. between you picking them and the game itself starting), then you can exchange them for somebody else once all other drafting has finished without it costing you any of your money.

I don't see it as any kind of advantage, seeing as whatever is left by that point ain't going to be much anyway, and it's never nice to be carrying dead weight for the whole game...

I mean, I am at a massive disadvantage now (forget that it's me for a moment (imagine it is somebody that uses their money properly and wisely), and forget that I did it out of ignorance). Realistically, I am going to have to drop Hardy (a first pick) for a sixth (read it, sixth!) pick, which will cost me $20 000; consequently meaning that I am essentially also out of the bidding for anybody big that debuts as well. Of course, I could wait on it... But that would mean that I would have a four man team.

Once more, I am not suggesting that I should be able to do that (hands up, again!, my fault), but it would be pretty unfortunate if somebody picked somebody up who got injured before the game even started...

... It is unlikely, of course, but I just think that maybe it could be written in incase that it did is all...

I'm all for that rule change. As long as the injured person is dropped before the 1st day started of the game. So the day of summerslam.  But with gargage left would u be willing to risk dropping him for a no one when he might not be leaving. I am for the rule change this game or next if others agreebefore the game starts for free. I don't know if I'd drophardy though this all could be a rogueand hardy aint going anywhere.

That rule if it existed still wouldn't be relevant with Hardy since, well we all know he is meant to be going, but word is he'll linger for a short while, point is he isn't going to be officially inactive by the drafts end anyway, and considering he may be having a very short break, dropping him may not have much upside anyway.

... I tried my damndest to ensure that my post didn't read like I was proposing it in order to aid myself !! As I said, forget Hardy.

The situation merely made me think of something that could be written into the rules for future games, and merely used my **** up to illustrate it. Because being in the situation the I outlined (forget Hardy and forget that he might be coming back!) would pretty much write you out of the game before it had even begun!

I know that's the same if your number one pick gets injured a week or two in, but I think that it would merit a rule change in the event of the game not having even started yet...

I just got thinking is all.

Aye I realised that I was merely using him to illustrate the main issues and grey areas with such a rule.  :P

Often absences/injuries are up in the air, you don't know how long someone will be out for.

Its also the extremes of the benefits of it.  Primarily it doesn't mean a thing, getting a 6th pick as a free replacement considering who will be left is... (although when we start relegating people to the "B League"  :hihi: )

....the other extreme being if Goldberg debuted @ Summerslam and said person with injured guy could just pick him up, come monday D would do his best Ken Shamrock impression...

I think thats a fair idea. Mind you not gonna be much available at that point
This is how it works, You're young until you're not
You love until you don't, You try until you can't
You laugh until you cry, You cry until you laugh
And everyone must breathe, Until their dying breath

Hmm since theres only really one half decent active person left, but with that being jobber status on ECW I think I'm going to risk it seeing as though its the long game.

I'm going to pick...
