I'm a sort of fan, but more your "hits".  Thanx to spotfiy I often pick and choose tracks here and there.

I mean if I listed tracks I like that come under the Hip Hop banner...

Dre: Next Episode, Still Dre, Forgot About Dre

Eminem: Stan, Guilty Conscience, Drug Ballad, Stan, Beautiful, The Way I Am

Jay-Z: 99 Problems

RUN-DMC: Rock Box, D-X Theme, Its Tricky, It's Like That, Run's House

2-Pac: California Love

Kanye West: Gold Digger

Xzibit: X

And some with rock mixed in....

Jay-Z and Linkin Park stuff, Busta Rhymes and Linkin Park's We Made It

And probably much more I'm forgetting (I like a fair bit of Kid Rock when he was still rapping), but as you can see I'm a hits guy, I don't really own any complete albums, thats why I like spotify, I can pick and choose tracks and sample stuff, there are bits by Snoop Dogg, Eazy E, Public Enemy and NWA I've delved into to, Nuthin But a G Thang, Express Yourself etc.

Don't think I even know any Ice Cube songs off the top of my head, I remember his film roles better, I loved him in Trespass with Ice-T, Bill Paxton and William Sadler.

So what songs of his would you recommend dude?

Lol - thats freaky, your list looks suspicioulsy like mine would read

I suppose these are the 'big' tracks with significant cross over appeal (either that or they are just good music)

I have albums by a number of rap artists but like you said, i'm more a fan of songs than artists

Aye back in the day when Nu-Metal was taking off I got a few Eminem, Kid Rock albums and listened to my mates D-12 and Snoop Dogg stuff but when I properly discovered rock my interest just floated off, now I like bits, I think Eminem is an interesting one because he can be fantastic but when he does his comedy routine I lose interest.

Eminem's joke stuff is dreadful - 'Just lose it' was the exact moment i lot interest in him

Eminem's an odd one - he was so different and dynamic when he arrived....but now, he's so dated, so 'yesterday' - not sure how he managed it

...perhaps the cliched 'retirement' thing did it

I would recommend the track Beautiful, I have little interest in his current stuff but this track stood out to me when I heard it on the radio.

Cool. And yeah, he use to be a great one, but ofcourse just like everyone, 20 years in the game can have some affect on ya. But he still puts out good CDs, so im not complainin.

And TBH, im not really a fan of that song for some reason. Yes i like but i like other Cube songs more.

Not a huge rap fan. Just songs here and there. Was on a pretty big Ice-T kick back in the early 90s. Love the Too Short song "In the Ghetto".

As far as new rap goes, I love Rye Rye. She unfortunately got pregnant right when Uni was about to launch her album and its been postponed. MIA is pretty much my favorite artist, but you cant really classify her as rap even though she has elements of it.

I never liked Jay z

I was a fan of older hip hop

NWA,2 live crew, Ice T,Dr Dre, 2pac,

Rap now is more dated and is as horrible as Hair Metal ever was.

Rap needs a Kurt Cobain to blow it up and start over

that Jay Z 99 problems song is actually a sample of Ice T's song 99 problems from his Home Invasion album
