2-1 to the Spurs and fully desrved, I thought. Liverpool were shocking and acted like a right bunch of babies towards the end of the first half and at the end of the match.

Their first (not including the stone wall that they were given) penalty appeal was borderline, the second not a chance. It was a really encouraging performance though, our tracking back and defending in general was superb.

(... For a Spurs side, of course)

According to my dad, the first 30 minutes of the Spurs game was "like watching paint dry". (He's a Spurs fan as well)

I used to be quite into football when I was younger, then for some reasons I eventually lost interest....

Martins a legend who came around when the team was ****, shame, another era he'd of been on a role, Martins was THE man  ;)

Bassong is a defender and EVERYBODY knows Newcastle don't do defenders.  Well at least no defenders who defend, we have ones that score but thats because we never got past the Keegan, bollocks to defending we'll score more than you mentality, good times!  Speaking of scoring defenders, Albert lobbing Schmeichel, 5-0! More good times!

Could be a decent signing that. Certainly for the championship, he should do a decent job.

Rey Mysterio meets Real Madrid players

Intercontinental Champion Rey Mysterio recently toured Spain where he invited Cristiano Ronaldo, Raul and their Real Madrid teammates to WWE’s upcoming SmackDown and ECW live event in Madrid on Sept. 24.

"It was an honor to be invited to visit Real Madrid’s training ground and meet Raul, Ronaldo, Kaka and all the other footballers that play for such a successful team,” Mysterio said. “I am looking forward to seeing them again in September when I am back in Madrid and to give them a taste of my own kind of athleticism!”

Real Madrid is a professional club and the most successful team in Spanish football history. They’ve won a record 31 La Liga titles, 17 Spanish Cups, nine European Cups and two UEFA Cups.

"Rey, it is a pleasure to meet you,” Raul told the SmackDown Superstar. “Thank you for the invite to see you in Madrid. My kids love your show.”

When he was on Sky Sports News not that long back, he was telling us how disappointed he was that Mexico didn't qualify for Euro 2008.
