I like the look of Dos Santos vs. Gonzaga.  I'm picking Dos Santos via 1st Round TKO.

I've gone back and forth about this fight quite a bit.

Neither guy has a ground game, both heavy hitters, they are going to stand and bang and someone is going down, I can't seem the shake from my memory the Seth and Irvin losses the guys encountered, I'm going to have to go with Houston in this one though.

Gritty Kiwi James Te Huna (11-4) signed a four-fight contract with the UFC and will debut in the Octagon at UFC 110 in Sydney February 20, Fighters.com has confirmed.

Fighters.com profiled the top prospect Down Under after he knocked out two-time UFC fighter “Hippo” Anthony Perosh (6-4) in 2:21 to win the Cage Fighting Championship’s Light Heavyweight Grand Prix at CFC 10 in Sydney August 21.

For Te Huna, it was an arrival on the international MMA scene, and his biggest win to date.

The Mark Hunt (5-6)-trained Te Huna has never lacked the heart of a champion. In a 2006 fight versus Takahiro Oba (4-5) at X-plosion in Sydney, Te Huna’s right arm went stiff and motionless while on his back with Oba dropping bombs above him. The referee stepped-in to pause the fight and discovered Te Huna’s shoulder had popped out of socket. In Te Huna’s corner, Hunt pressed Te Huna’s forearm beneath his arm pit and yanked the arm back into socket. Te Huna popped his mouthguard back into his mouth and won a decision over Oba.

i didn't see it but some friends that did told me that Machida edged it.
This is how it works, You're young until you're not
You love until you don't, You try until you can't
You laugh until you cry, You cry until you laugh
And everyone must breathe, Until their dying breath

Shogun won at LEAST 4 rounds.

Utter bulltshit.

Octagon Control, Effective Damage etc.  Shogun had it and made Machida look human, I'd ask for a rematch but it was exactly riveting stuff either...

Add UFC President Dana White to the long list of disappointed mixed martial arts fans who felt Mauricio “Shogun” Rua did enough to win a decision over undefeated light heavyweight champion, Lyoto Machida, last night at UFC 104 from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

The only problem is he didn’t, losing two rounds two three. In fact, all three judges — Nelson Hamilton, Cecil Peoples and Marcos Rosales — scored it 48-47 for the “Dragon.”

“I thought Shogun won the fight,” White remarked at the post-event press conference.

However, White appeared to be a little ticked that both fighters didn’t lay it all on the line in the fifth and final round. That’s because both of their respective corners told them they were ahead on the judges scorecards.

Expect Machida and Shogun to do things much differently in a rematch, which White said would happen “as fast as we can.”

“I believe this will be a good rematch,” he said. “They won’t make the same mistakes next time. Each one will try to win decisively.”

It wasn’t clear exactly when Machida-Shogun 2 would take place because the dust had barely settled on a very controversial decision. In addition, Machida admitted that his leg was very sore after absorbing several kicks from the powerful Chute Boxe-trained striker.

But it can’t come soon enough.

Brock Lesnar, the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s massive heavyweight titleholder, was forced to withdraw Monday from his highly anticipated Nov. 21 title defense in Las Vegas against Shane Carwin.

UFC president Dana White confirmed the news to Yahoo! Sports. White said Lesnar has been ill for more than three-and-a-half weeks and unable to train. With the bout at UFC 106 less than a month away, Lesnar was forced to postpone the title defense.

“He said he’s never been this sick in his life,” White said. “He said it’s been going on for a long time and he just hasn’t been able to shake it.”

White said he does not believe Lesnar had the H1N1 virus, commonly known as swine flu.

The fight matched two of the biggest and most powerful heavyweights in the UFC. Lesnar (4-1), a former World Wrestling Entertainment star, was a junior college and NCAA Division I wrestling champion. Carwin is a former Division II national wrestling champion.

Both men weigh around 295 pounds and cut weight to make the heavyweight division’s 265-pound limit.

White said he is not sure when the fight will be rescheduled or if Carwin will still fight on the card.

“We’re still working everything out,” he said.

Carwin (11-0), who made several appearances in Los Angeles on Saturday to promote the fight, was clearly disappointed at getting the news.

“My heart just sank, as you can imagine,” Carwin said. “Hopefully, we’ll get it rescheduled soon.”

The co-feature at UFC 106 is set to be a light heavyweight bout between Tito Ortiz and Forrest Griffin, both among the company’s most popular fighters. That bout could be moved to main event status if White does not land a suitable opponent for Carwin for that date.

That sucks, who would want to fight him on short notice then.

Cain came out in pretty good shape but I doubt he'd take it with it being so close.

“From low tide to high tide…. You figure in losing the title [to Evans] that Forrest has doubt; he had doubt against Silva. This is all or nothing for him. And this is my comeback fight. I’m not going to lie, it’s been a challenge for me. Not pain. I have no [back] pain, but I’m dealing with the fatigue from not fighting so long. I’m like 80 to 90 percent now, not 100. Coming back is hard mentally and physically. So even though I won’t be going anywhere — I have five fights left on my contract — it’s kind of do or die for both of us. But I promise I’m going to get in there and entertain. I can’t wait…. [The first fight] might have been a split-decision, but I thought I won. Look at my face after the fight, and look at his, and you’ll also see my hand was raised afterward…. Two former champions. A lot of fans hate Forrest now after the Silva fight, but he usually brings it, and I always come to fight. I’m not going anywhere. I’ve been surviving for 12 years. I know how to do this.”

Former light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz talks about his upcoming rematch with Forrest Griffin in the UFC 106 main event at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Nov. 21.

“The UFC looked like **** this weekend. The main event was boring. I anticipated that because let’s be real … Machida is a boring fighter. But Shogun getting robbed like that was pretty cutthroat…. Most of the people from the ‘A-Team movie’ were just watching it because I was watching it and they don’t know much about MMA and were starting to get into it, but [Saturday] night they didn’t have anything good to say about my sport. So I was so ashamed…. The UFC needs to get some new judges before I even think about coming back. I want the **** fans to go back and watch all the fights that you thought was kinda shady with the judges in the UFC and TUF and write down the names of the judges so you guys can complain and have a voice. Do your homework. This sport wouldn’t be what it is without the fans. It’s hard for me to believe that the UFC is so successful and has over 100 shows and can’t tell who wins a fight.”

– Former light heavyweight champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson isn’t very happy with the three judges who awarded Lyoto Machida a unanimous decision win over Mauricio “Shogun” Rua this weekend at UFC 104. Jackson, like a majority of fans, felt that Shogun was the clear-cut winner, which wasn’t the case when the decision was read

“I thought it was a very even and tough fight. I had the opportunity to see the fight again and I thought I won four rounds and Shogun took the last one. Some people say he won the fourth and fifth round, but for sure I won at least the first three rounds. The American commentators were pretty much biased. If you see the fight without audio, you will probably see a different fight. Shogun was a great opponent and had a nice strategy. He deserves all my respect as a fighter, but I was superior. I had three or four chances to finish the fight, and he never put me in danger. I didn’t get (dazed) at any moment of the fight, but I put him in danger three or four times. He kicked my legs a couple of times, but he wouldn’t knock me out with that. This fight was judged by professionals, so I’m pretty much comfortable with the result.”

Reigning light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida talks to Sherdog.com about his controversial unanimous decision win over challenger Mauricio Rua at UFC 104 last Saturday night in Los Angeles.

Score cards are now out as well.

2 judges gave him the first 3 rounds and one judge game him the middle 3.
