Latelly it has been discussed time and time again about how short title reigns are and what it truelly means to be a 9 Time world Champion Like Edge is. Being a Numbers guy like I am (Im an Auditor in the Real world) I decided to take the time and break down Each of the Major "World Titles" and simply rank the champions based on time holding the belt instead of actual times winning the Belt. I decided to do this because I don't care if Someone like Ric Flair is a 14 time world Champion because to me it means he lost the title 14 times also. The first belt I am going to be discussing is the now defunt former WCW World Heavyweight Championship.

The numbers for the WCW belt begin after the WCW and got my information from WIKIpedia which is mostly accuratre. I then compared it to WWE and how they regonized it, . In this case with Difference I went with WIKI record even though we all know WWE.com LIES!!!!. I believe the Records start After the WCW merged their WCW and International Titles (The time after the Rick Rude and Flair were Fueding)

So just looking at the numbers I guess you could say Hulk Hogan was the best WCW Champion he has the total most days at 1,158 and he also averaged the most days per reign at 193. He will always be remembered as the Biggest WWF star but I think he also could be considered the Best WCW Champion based on the numbers.

Also looking at someone like Randy Savage a 4 TIME WCW CHAMPION all his reigns combined equal 53 Days and his last two reigns were only 1 day apiece jobbing the title back to Hulk Hogan so including his WWF jobbing to Hogan that makes 3 time He has had to job a world title to Hulk Hogan, maybe that’s why he is so mad at Hogan to this day, mad enough to the point where he has to call him out on his rap album. Anyone else have to add to this I am going to break down the WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP NEXT.

Hogan is not the best WCW champion. The only reign of his I would give him sole credit for is when he beat Flair in 94, and even that wasn't good because it was obvious he was brought there to take the belt from Flair. He was number 1 contender the moment he signed with WCW. That rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. That NWO crap carried Hogan through most of his WCW career. If NWO never happened, Bischoff would have had to cut him loose because Hulkamania version 2.0 just wasn't gonna work.

Goldberg having one title run is not shocking in hindsight. They ruined him with that win streak, and once he lost, everything people liked about him no longer existed. Mcmahon even gave him a chance years later and it just didn't really work. Goldberg isn't Goldberg unless he's undefeated.


Vader was a solid champ and literally carried the company through one of its dark periods(91-93). His feud with Cactus Jack deserved at least one title change. Instead, he keeps it and loses it to Flair when he returns. That was actually a good feud, but it completely derailed Vader's career here. There was nothing left for him to do.

One of things that ruined later year WCW compared to WWF, is the fact that title was regularly defended on PPV in matches that lasted under 10 minutes in the main event.

"Starcade" (1999) "Bret Hart vs. Goldberg" hyped like a classic "Wrestlemaina Main Event", results in ten minutes that feature the stupidest finish ever (not counting the end of Bret Harts career) when Rowdy Piper walks down to the ring and orders the match to stop and walks off.

Is the WCW title defunct? I thought the world heavy weight title was very much the wcw title? Only bit of class Vince showed, allowing it's history to be preserved

They look the same, heck it might be an identical model, I'm not sure, but they are treated as being seperate, as far as I know the WCW Title is very much defunct.

After the 2001 Survivor Series, the WCW Title became simply the "World Title", and at Vengeance got merged with the WWF Title. Chris Jericho beat The Rock for the World Title, so I think he'd be classed as the final WCW Champion.

Yeah he unified them both to become to unified wwe champ. I remember a lot of changes back in the day but I can't believe people like macho man and jarrett are 4 time champions with 60 days. Heck machos last two world titles were 1 day reigns.

Loved vader.  He was a bad ass mf'er. He was a big guy who could move.

Besides all the title changes the last two years of wcw it seems if you check the records they vacated the title so much for dumb reasons.

As for hulkamania 2.0. I think they could of used that instead of nwo people were crying on the ppv when he turned nwo people loved and lived hulk a mania.

Nope.

The World Heavyweight Championship was brought to Raw by then-General Manager Eric Bischoff after WWE Champion Brock Lesnar became exclusive to SmackDown. Bischoff awarded the championship to Triple H, but he had to defend it against his then-best friend, Ric Flair. Triple H was successful and has held the championship on five different occasions. Other holders of this prestigious championship include Shawn Michaels, Undertaker, Rey Mysterio and more.
