Guns N' Roses
« on: June 26, 2009, 09:30:08 pm »
Gotta have a thread about them right?

The passing of MJ really puts things in perspective for me when it comes to Axl.

If he doesn't like the spotlight anymore and he lives a nice peaceful, comfortable existence at home, I say God Bless the man.

Seeing what fame and stress and pressure can do to someone has really made me change my tune when it comes to Axl and GNR.

It is a shame though that he pretty much wasted the prime of his career doing nothing, but if that allows him to live a long healthy life. I will support that now.

If we're gonna look at this from a health perspective, he needs to dump the hangers on and let the animosity towards Slash stay buried in the past. That type of **** just isn't healthy.

I'm not even saying a reunion needs to happen. Just let the past go.
I have wined and dined with kings and queens, and I've slept in alleys and dined on pork and beans.

Also makes u see how fragile and stuff life can be and really how silly it is to carry feuds for all these years.

Like u said, a reunion doesn't have to happen, but grudges aren't good to have and I think Axl will feel pretty shitty if Slash were to die before they bury the hatchet.

Just see Dr Dre and Eazy E on that one.

No videos, no tour

At what point do Guns N Roses officially become ''irrelevant''?

My interest in GNR died that terrible day back in June 2006 when I saw GNR live

...they were 3-4 hours late in sweltering conditions

They hit the stage...and then there was a massive pause...another song...pause...then we had endless instrumentals. The guitar bits were the hideous 'noise' that gives guitar rock a bad name

An instrumental of 'beautiful' - wtf?

I was crushed, absolutely crushed

...but worse, I'd already got tickets to a show in August

...the infamous London Arena '06 show

3 hours late Axl did 10 songs before he went home and his manager came out to say he was ''sick''

...that morning he'd been drinking away in a bar

Thanks, you ****

Wonder what spin that would get over at the other place?

When I watch a GNR 2006 boot on YT, I can barely make it through a song

The constant delays and lack of updates are annoying no doubt.

What I do know is I've seen them live 3 times, and loved all 3 performances.

False

The latest news out there:

In May of 2009, reports surfaced that Rose had re-recorded 'Appetite For Destruction' with the current GNR lineup, in anticipation of the album's upcoming 25th anniversary. Several critics have denounced the mere suggestion of tampering with 'Appetite' as musical blasphemy and a blatant cash grab, effectively cutting Slash, McKagan, Stradlin and Adler out of future album royalties. In a recent interview, Slash reportedly responded to the rumor with, "Axl remakes Appetite and my lawyers will remake his balls."

Slash getting back at Axl for the infamous "he's in my ass" comment perhaps?

"Axl remakes Appetite and my lawyers will remake his balls."

If that is a real quote, that is hilarious. :D

Can't say for sure, I found it on wikipedia and traced it to a site called GNRSource.
